  • The Benefits of a Mennonite-Made Round Dining Table.

If you’ve ever tried to seat people around a rectangular dining table, you know the struggle. Someone always ends up at the “kids’ table” end, someone else is halfway down the table shouting to be heard, and Uncle Joe is leaning sideways trying to join the conversation. Enter the hero of the dining room: the round dining table —especially when it’s Mennonite-crafted solid wood . At Cinnamon Cabin Co . , we love round tables for many reasons. They are practical, beautiful, and built to last. But when they’re made by Mennonite craftsmen using solid wood and time-honored techniques, they become something even better: the center of family life. Let’s look at why a Mennonite-made round dining table  is one of the best furniture investments you can make for your home. 1. Everyone Gets a Seat at the Conversation The greatest advantage of a round dining table is simple: everyone can see everyone else . Instead of shouting across a long table, conversation flows naturally. Whether it’s family dinner, coffee with friends, or a late-night board game, the round shape encourages connection. No “head of the table.”No awkward corners. Just good food, laughter, and stories shared equally. It’s the perfect table for the kind of warm, welcoming home atmosphere many Ontario families want. 2. Perfect for Smaller Dining Spaces Round tables are also incredibly space-efficient . Because there are no sharp corners, they fit nicely into smaller dining rooms, breakfast nooks, or open-concept kitchens. People can move around them more easily, and chairs slide in smoothly without hitting table legs at strange angles. For many homes in Ontario—whether in London, Goderich, Toronto, or rural Huron County—a solid wood round table  can make the dining area feel larger and more inviting. 3. Built from Solid Wood That Lasts for Generations A Mennonite-made table isn’t built like big-box furniture. These tables are crafted from solid hardwood  such as: Maple Oak Wormy Maple Walnut Instead of particle board or veneers, you get real wood throughout . That means your table can handle: daily family meals spilled juice homework sessions holiday feasts the occasional enthusiastic elbow from a competitive board-game player With proper care, a Mennonite-crafted table can easily last 50 to 100 years . 4. Timeless Craftsmanship (No Wobbly Tables Here) Mennonite furniture builders are known for precision craftsmanship and traditional joinery . That means: Strong mortise-and-tenon joints Smooth hand-finished surfaces Thick solid tops Carefully balanced bases In other words, when someone leans on the table, it doesn’t wobble like a shopping cart with a bad wheel. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we work with Mennonite craftsmen who focus on durability and quality—not fast production. The result is furniture that feels solid the moment you sit down. 5. A Style That Never Goes Out of Fashion Round dining tables have been popular for centuries—and for good reason. Their shape works beautifully in many styles: Modern farmhouse Traditional Transitional Rustic cabin Contemporary homes Whether paired with ladder-back chairs , upholstered seating, or a built-in bench, a round solid wood dining table  becomes a natural focal point of the room. And unlike trendy furniture that looks dated after five years, a well-built wood table simply grows more beautiful over time. 6. Mennonite-Made Round Dining Tables Become the Heart of the Home If you think about it, some of life’s most important moments happen around the dining table. Family dinners. Birthday cakes. Homework help. Conversations about life, faith, and the future. A round table makes those moments feel more connected because everyone gathers together in one circle. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we love seeing our Mennonite-crafted tables become the gathering place for families across Ontario. A Final Thought: The Circle of God’s Eternal Love There’s something meaningful about the shape of a round table. A circle has no beginning and no end , and in many ways it reminds us of something even greater—the eternal love of God. Just like a circle, God’s love surrounds us completely and never runs out. The Bible reminds us of this beautiful truth: “Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”  — Psalm 136:1 And again: “I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”  — Jeremiah 31:3 A well-crafted table may last for generations, but God’s love lasts for eternity . As families gather around the table for meals and conversation, those moments can also become opportunities to remember the blessings we’ve been given and the One who provides them. In that way, a simple round dining table  becomes more than furniture—it becomes a place where family, gratitude, and faith come together. ~ Katherine

  • What to Look for in a High-Quality Canadian-Made Dresser (Ontario Buyer's Guide)

If you're shopping for a solid wood dresser in Ontario , you’ve probably noticed a big difference in quality — and price. Some dressers last five years. Others last fifty. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we believe furniture should be built once and built right. Here’s what Ontario homeowners should look for when investing in a high-quality, Canadian-made dresser. 🇨🇦 1. Solid Canadian Hardwood — Not Veneer or MDF The first question to ask is simple: Is it truly solid wood? Look for dressers made from: Solid maple Solid oak Solid walnut Solid wormy maple Avoid particle board, MDF cores, or thin veneers. In Ontario’s changing seasons — dry winters and humid summers — solid hardwood performs far better over time. A real solid wood dresser can be refinished, repaired, and passed down. Veneer cannot. 🔨 2. Strong Joinery (Dovetail Drawers Matter) Open the drawers and inspect the corners. High-quality Canadian craftsmanship will include: Dovetail drawer joints  (not staples or glue blocks) Solid wood drawer boxes Properly fitted drawer bottoms (not thin cardboard panels) Dovetails are a sign the piece was built with intention, not mass production shortcuts. 🛠 3. Full-Extension, Smooth Drawer Slides You should be able to pull the drawer all the way out smoothly — without sticking, wobbling, or grinding. (a new dresser slide may stick at first, but should become smooth with use.) Look for: Full-extension soft-close slides Full-extension metal slides Proper weight support Even drawer spacing A dresser that feels solid when opening and closing will serve your family well for decades. 🌡 4. Built for Ontario’s Climate Ontario homes experience dramatic humidity swings. A well-built Canadian dresser accounts for wood movement using: Kiln-dried lumber Floating panels Proper expansion gaps Mortise and tenon framing If furniture isn’t built with climate in mind, cracking and warping become real risks. 🎨 5. Quality Finish & Attention to Detail Examine the details: Smooth sanding Even stain application Durable protective topcoat Clean edges and hardware installation A premium dresser should feel refined in every corner — inside and out. 🏡 6. Canadian-Made Dressers by Skilled Mennonite Craftsmen When you purchase Canadian-made furniture, you’re investing in: Local jobs Higher quality standards Ethical sourcing Accountability At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , our solid wood bedroom furniture reflects traditional craftsmanship — built to become heirloom pieces in Ontario homes. 💰 7. Long-Term Value Over Short-Term Savings A cheaper imported dresser may look similar online, but it often: Uses engineered materials Loosens at joints over time Cannot be refinished Ends up in a landfill or on a burn pile A solid wood dresser is an investment in durability, beauty, and legacy. Building More Than a Bedroom Just as you carefully choose quality furniture that will last, it’s even more important to choose where you build your spiritual life. The Bible reminds us: “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…” — Hebrews 10:24–25 A Christ-centered church family strengthens, encourages, and anchors your home. Furniture may furnish a room, but faith furnishes the heart. As Ontario families invest in homes that stand the test of time, may we also seek a church community rooted in Christ — built on truth, love, and lasting foundation. “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11 At Cinnamon Cabin Co., we believe in building furniture with integrity — and homes with purpose. Our church family, Bible Missionary Church , is building with faith in Jesus Christ. We always extend a warm welcome! ~ Katherine

  • Why Solid Wood Dining Chairs Are the Best Option in Canada.

(And Why Your Kitchen Will Thank You) If you’ve been Googling “Are solid wood dining chairs worth it in Canada?”  — welcome. You’re in the right place. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we believe your dining chairs should do three things: Look beautiful Survive real life Outlast your in-laws’ opinions Let’s talk about why solid wood dining chairs are the best option for Canadian homes  — from Toronto condos to Huron County farmhouses. 1. Built for Canadian Life (Which Means Built Tough) Canada has four seasons… sometimes in one week. Between dry winter heat and humid summers, furniture gets tested. Solid wood — especially Canadian hardwoods like maple and oak — expands and contracts naturally without falling apart. Unlike particleboard or veneer chairs, solid wood dining chairs don’t wobble after one hockey season of kids climbing on them . At Cinnamon Cabin Co., we focus on: Solid wood Mennonite-crafted joinery No flimsy shortcuts Because if a chair can survive family game night, Thanksgiving dinner, and your toddler using it as a jungle gym — it’s doing its job. 2. They Actually Last (Like… Decades) Here’s the honest truth: Cheap dining chairs are like fast food. Fun at first. Regret later. Solid wood dining chairs are an investment. They can last 20–50+ years when properly cared for. And unlike mass-produced imports, they can be: Refinished Repaired Passed down Loved again Try refinishing a plastic chair. I’ll wait. 3. They Match Any Canadian Style Whether your home is: Modern Toronto minimalist Cozy Muskoka cabin Farmhouse in Southwestern Ontario Transitional suburban build Solid wood dining chairs work everywhere. Stained dark? Elegant. Natural finish? Scandinavian. Light maple? Warm and timeless. Black stained oak? Modern farmhouse perfection. Wood doesn’t go out of style. Trends do. Wood stays. 4. They Feel Better (Literally) Have you ever sat in a hollow, lightweight chair and thought: “This feels like it might betray me.” Solid wood chairs feel stable. Substantial. Secure. They don’t creak like a haunted house every time someone shifts their weight. There’s something reassuring about real wood under you. It feels grounded. Solid. Reliable. Kind of like the person who built it. 5. They’re Better for the Long Run (Financially & Environmentally) Buying cheap chairs every 5 years costs more than buying solid wood once. Plus: Solid wood is biodegradable. It doesn’t contain the same adhesives as particleboard. It reduces landfill waste over time. Choosing quality is often the more responsible choice — for your wallet and for Canada. Why Cinnamon Cabin Co. Wood Dining Chairs? At Cinnamon Cabin Co . , we believe furniture should tell a story. Our solid wood dining chairs are: Crafted with care Built from real hardwood Designed for Canadian homes Made to pair beautifully with solid wood dining tables We don’t do shortcuts. We do craftsmanship. The kind that feels different the moment you sit down. And Here’s the Real Best Choice in Life We believe in choosing what lasts. Solid wood dining chairs are the best option because they’re strong, dependable, and built to endure. But there’s something even more lasting. Following Jesus Christ is the best decision for life — not because it’s trendy, but because it’s eternal. Furniture eventually wears. Wood eventually ages. But faith in Christ offers forgiveness, purpose, and a hope that doesn’t fade. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24:35 Just like investing in solid wood is choosing what endures in your home, following Jesus is choosing what endures forever. If you’re looking for solid wood dining chairs in Canada , Cinnamon Cabin Co. would be honoured to help you find chairs built to last — for decades, not just dinner. ~ Katherine

  • What is a Solid Wood Sideboard Used For?

A solid wood sideboard is a timeless storage piece commonly used in dining rooms, living rooms, and entryways throughout Canadian homes. Designed to combine function, durability, and craftsmanship , a sideboard offers generous storage while adding warmth and character that only real wood can provide. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , our solid wood sideboards are handcrafted in Ontario with an emphasis on longevity—built to serve your home for decades, not years. Dining Room Storage for Canadian Homes In dining rooms, a solid wood sideboard is traditionally used to store dishes, serving platters, table linens, and cutlery . Canadian families often rely on sideboards during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, using the top surface as a serving station or buffet. Unlike veneer furniture, solid wood sideboards can handle the weight of heavy dishware without sagging or structural failure—an important consideration in long Canadian winters where humidity levels fluctuate. Living Room and Open-Concept Use In living rooms and open-concept spaces, a sideboard can function as a media console, storage cabinet, or display unit . Solid wood provides visual stability and warmth, helping anchor larger spaces often found in modern Canadian homes. Many homeowners also choose sideboards as an alternative to particleboard TV stands, especially when durability and long-term value matter. Entryway and Hallway Organization A solid wood sideboard is an excellent solution for Canadian entryways and hallways, offering storage for seasonal items such as hats, mitts, and baskets. Its sturdy construction makes it ideal for high-traffic areas, where MDF furniture often fails over time. Why Choose a Solid Wood Sideboard Solid wood sideboards stand apart because they are repairable, refinishable, and built to last . Natural wood expands and contracts with the seasons, but proper joinery allows the piece to age gracefully rather than deteriorate. Many solid wood sideboards remain in use for generations, making them a smart investment for Canadian households. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe quality furniture should reflect intentional craftsmanship—honest materials, careful construction, and lasting beauty. A Lasting Piece — and a Lasting Hope While a solid wood sideboard is built to endure, Scripture reminds us that true permanence is found in something greater. The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift freely given through faith in Jesus Christ, not something earned through works. “For by grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God”  (Ephesians 2:8–9). Furniture may last for generations, but salvation offers eternal life grounded in grace, forgiveness, and hope that never fades. ~ Katherine

  • Do Ontario Mennonite Kitchens Last Longer than Big Box Options?

Across Ontario , homeowners searching for custom kitchens keep asking the same question: Are Mennonite kitchens really solid wood — and do they last longer than big-box kitchens sold in Ontario? Whether families are renovating century homes, farmhouses, or new builds across Southwestern Ontario, the concern is the same: Will this kitchen hold up to real Canadian living? At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we work with solid wood furniture every day, and we see firsthand why Mennonite craftsmanship continues to stand apart in Ontario homes. What Makes Mennonite Kitchens Different in Ontario? Ontario’s climate is demanding — fluctuating humidity, cold winters, warm summers, and daily wear from busy households. Mennonite kitchens are built with these realities in mind. Unlike most mass-produced kitchens sold in Ontario big-box stores, Mennonite kitchens typically feature: Real wood doors and drawer fronts Dovetail drawer joinery Furniture-grade plywood or solid panels Hand-applied finishes , often done locally These materials expand and contract naturally with Ontario’s seasons — without failing. Why Many Ontario Kitchens Don’t Last Most factory kitchens sold across Ontario are designed for speed and price, not longevity. They often rely on: Particle board that swells with moisture MDF that cannot be refinished Thin laminates that chip or peel Fastened joinery that loosens over time In Ontario homes — especially rural, farmhouse, or older houses — these materials simply don’t age well. Once damage occurs, replacement is usually the only option. Are Mennonite Kitchens Worth the Cost in Ontario? While Mennonite kitchens typically cost more upfront, many Ontario homeowners find they are less expensive over a lifetime . A solid wood Mennonite kitchen can: Last 30–50+ years  in Ontario conditions Be refinished instead of replaced Maintain structural strength despite humidity changes Add long-term resale value to Ontario homes This is why Mennonite kitchens are often chosen for forever homes , not short-term renovations. Can Mennonite Kitchens Match Modern Ontario Design Trends? Yes — and this surprises many people. Ontario homeowners now pair Mennonite craftsmanship with: Shaker or slab-style doors Soft-close drawers and concealed hardware Neutral stains and clear finishes Farmhouse, transitional, or modern layouts The style evolves — the construction does not . Ontario Mennonite Craftsmanship and Lasting Values At Cinnamon Cabin Co ., we respect Mennonite kitchens because they reflect something deeper than woodworking skill — a commitment to building things that endure . Scripture reminds us that while kitchens, furniture, and homes matter, they are not eternal. Jesus said: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”  — Matthew 7:24 Just as a Mennonite kitchen built from solid wood stands strong through Ontario’s seasons, a life built on Jesus Christ stands firm forever . Salvation is not earned through effort or craftsmanship — it is a gift of grace, received through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). We take pride in building solid wood furniture that lasts for generations, but our greatest confidence rests in something even more lasting: the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the promise of eternal life . ~ Katherine

  • How to Care for a Canadian-Made Solid Wood Coffee Table

A solid wood coffee table is more than just a piece of furniture—it’s a gathering place. It’s where morning coffee is poured, stories are shared, and everyday life unfolds. When your coffee table is Canadian-made from real solid wood , it’s built to last for generations—but like anything of lasting value, it deserves thoughtful care. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we handcraft solid wood furniture using time-honoured techniques and carefully selected lumber. With the right care, your coffee table will only grow more beautiful with age. 1. Embrace the Nature of Solid Wood Solid wood is alive—it expands and contracts with seasonal humidity changes, especially in Canada’s climate. Small variations in grain, tone, or movement are not flaws; they’re part of what makes each piece one of a kind. Tip:  Keep your Canadian-made coffee table in a reasonably climate-controlled space and avoid placing it directly beside heat vents, fireplaces, or exterior doors where temperature swings are extreme. 2. Clean a Canadian-made Coffee Table Gently and Consistently For everyday care, less is more. Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth Avoid harsh cleaners, sprays, or chemicals Skip anything with ammonia or silicone A gentle wipe after daily use prevents dust buildup and protects the wood’s natural finish. 3. Protect the Surface from Daily Wear Solid wood is strong, but smart habits go a long way. Use coasters for mugs and glasses Place felt pads under décor items Avoid setting hot dishes directly on the surface These simple steps help preserve the finish and prevent heat marks or moisture rings. 4. Expect—and Appreciate—Character Over Time Minor dents, subtle scratches, and soft wear marks will naturally appear as your coffee table is lived with. Rather than diminishing its beauty, these details tell a story—your story. Many customers tell us their favourite pieces are the ones that show life, love, and years of use. That’s the beauty of solid wood: it doesn’t wear out, it wears in . 5. Refresh When Needed Depending on use and environment, your coffee table may benefit from occasional maintenance. Light conditioning with a wood-safe oil or wax (if recommended for your finish) Gentle buffing to revive sheen If you’re unsure, our team at Cinnamon Cabin Co. is always happy to guide you on caring for your specific piece. A Final Thought: Just as Wood Is Cared For, So Are We Caring for a solid wood coffee table takes patience, consistency, and understanding—much like how Jesus cares for us . He doesn’t discard us when we show wear or weakness. Instead, He remains faithful, present, and gentle. Scripture reminds us: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”  — 1 Peter 5:7 And again: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”  — Psalm 23:1 Just as a well-crafted table is built to last and lovingly maintained, we too are held, guided, and sustained by a Savior who never stops caring—through every season of life. ~ Katherine

  • Solid Wood Bed Frames: Will It Last Longer?

When customers visit Cinnamon Cabin Co. , one of the common questions we hear is: Will a solid wood bed frame actually last longer? It’s an important question—especially when choosing between mass-produced furniture and a handcrafted solid wood bed built to stand the test of time. The simple answer is yes . A properly built solid wood bed frame will last significantly longer than MDF, veneer, or metal alternatives. Why Solid Wood Bed Frames Last Longer Built From Real Wood, Not Composites At Cinnamon Cabin Co., our bed frames are crafted from solid wood , not particle board, MDF, or thin veneers. Solid wood retains its natural strength and structure, allowing it to support weight and movement without breaking down over time. Strength Where It Matters Most A bed frame supports constant pressure—night after night, year after year. Solid wood distributes weight evenly across the frame, reducing stress on joints and slats. This is why solid wood beds are far less likely to sag, wobble, or squeak as they age. Quality Joinery for Long-Term Stability Well-built solid wood bed frames rely on strong joinery and precision craftsmanship. Proper joints stay tight, resist movement, and maintain structural integrity far longer than frames that depend on staples, glue, or thin hardware. Designed for Canadian Homes and Climate Canadian homes experience seasonal humidity changes, temperature shifts, and long winters. Solid wood bed frames—when properly dried and finished—perform exceptionally well in these conditions. Unlike composite materials that can swell, crack, or delaminate, solid wood adapts naturally while remaining strong and stable. This makes solid wood an excellent choice for Ontario and Canadian households looking for furniture that lasts. Longevity You Can See—and Feel A solid wood bed frame isn’t a short-term purchase. Many last 30 years or more , often becoming heirloom pieces passed down through generations. And if wear ever does occur, solid wood can be sanded, refinished, or repaired—extending its life even further. When you invest in a solid wood bed frame, you’re investing in craftsmanship, durability, and long-term value. Is a Solid Wood Bed Frame Worth the Price? While the upfront cost of a solid wood bed frame is higher than mass-produced alternatives, the long-term value is undeniable. Replacing cheaper bed frames every few years costs more over time than investing once in a bed built to last decades. For many of our customers, the decision comes down to this: buy once, buy well . A Foundation That Lasts Forever Even the finest solid wood bed frame—no matter how carefully crafted—will one day wear with time. Scripture reminds us that all earthly things are temporary. But there is a foundation that lasts forever. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away”  (Matthew 24:35). And again, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock”  (Matthew 7:24). At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we believe in building things that last—but more importantly, we believe in the lasting hope found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. While furniture may age, faith in Him endures for eternity. ~ Katherine

  • Is a Solid Wood Dining Table Worth the Price?

When Canadians shop for a dining table , one question comes up more than any other: Is a solid wood dining table worth the price? In Ontario homes especially, where furniture must withstand changing seasons, busy family life, and long winters indoors, the decision matters. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we believe a solid wood dining table isn’t just worth the price—it’s one of the smartest long-term investments you can make for your home. What Makes a Solid Wood Dining Table More Expensive? A solid wood dining table  costs more because it is made from real lumber—such as maple, oak, or walnut—rather than veneer, MDF, or particle board. When you purchase a solid wood dining table in Canada, you are paying for: Genuine Canadian-appropriate hardwoods Skilled craftsmanship and traditional joinery Structural strength built for decades of use Natural grain patterns that make every table unique Unlike mass-produced imports, a handcrafted solid wood dining table is built to last, not to be replaced. Durability Matters in Canadian Homes Ontario’s climate brings dry winters, humid summers, and frequent temperature changes. High-quality solid wood tables: Do not peel or delaminate like veneer Can be repaired instead of discarded Can be refinished multiple times Maintain strength even after decades of daily use Many Ontario families replace cheaper tables every 5–10 years. A well-made solid wood dining table often lasts a lifetime—and beyond. The Long-Term Value of a Solid Wood Dining Table At first glance, a solid wood dining table may seem expensive. But over time, the value becomes clear. Instead of buying: Multiple low-cost tables over the years Furniture that cannot be repaired Pieces that lose structural integrity You invest once in a table that grows with your family. Over decades, a solid wood dining table often costs less per year  than disposable alternatives. Aesthetic Value That Improves With Age One of the most searched questions in Canada is: “Do solid wood dining tables scratch easily?” The truth is that solid wood furniture is meant to age gracefully . Small marks, softened edges, and subtle colour changes create a natural patina—something veneer furniture can never achieve. A solid wood dining table doesn’t lose value with use; it gains character. Built for Ontario Families and Real Life At Cinnamon Cabin Co ., we build solid wood dining tables in Ontario-friendly sizes and styles , designed for real Canadian homes. Our customers choose solid wood because they want: Tables sized correctly for their dining rooms Strong surfaces for everyday family meals Timeless designs that never go out of style Whether you’re hosting holiday dinners or weeknight meals, a solid wood dining table becomes the centre of family life. But if you value: Long-term durability Canadian craftsmanship Furniture that can be passed down Authentic materials over shortcuts Then yes—a solid wood dining table is absolutely worth the price , especially in Ontario and across Canada. A Final Reflection: Is Jesus Christ Worth the Price? As we consider lasting value, it’s important to look beyond material things. Jesus asked: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36 (KJV) Following Jesus Christ comes with a cost—faith, surrender, and trust—but the reward is eternal. Scripture reminds us: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 (KJV) A solid wood dining table is worth the price because it lasts. Jesus Christ is worth infinitely more—because His promise lasts forever. Handcrafted Solid Wood Dining Tables in Ontario At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , we believe in building furniture—and lives—on foundations that endure. Our solid wood dining tables are crafted with care, integrity, and purpose, for Canadian families who value what truly lasts. ~ Katherine

In Ontario especially, homeowners want furniture that is durable, honest, and crafted with care—not mass-produced or disposable. At Cinnamon Cabin Co. , solid wood chairs are built with those expectations in mind: real hardwood, traditional craftsmanship, and long-term value . What Does “Solid Wood Chairs” Mean in Canada? • New Year’s Resolutions: Building What Truly Lasts with Solid Wood Storage

Winsdor Sideboard The New Year invites us to pause and reflect. It is a time when many set goals, seek renewal, and look for meaningful change. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe the most worthwhile resolutions are not about trends or quick fixes, but about building a life—and a home—on what truly lasts . Scripture reminds us of this eternal perspective: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”  — Psalm 127:1 1. A Resolution of the Heart: Salvation by Faith In a season focused on self-improvement, it is easy to believe that change comes from trying harder. God’s Word gently reminds us that salvation is not earned by effort, but received by faith. “For by grace you have been saved through faith—not of yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”  — Ephesians 2:8–9 This truth brings freedom. When faith comes first, we are no longer driven by pressure, but guided by purpose. At Cinnamon Cabin Co, faith shapes not only how we live, but how we work. It teaches us patience, integrity, and humility—values reflected in honest craftsmanship and careful attention to detail. A New Year’s resolution rooted in faith says: I will trust God’s grace rather than rely on my own strength. I will grow in grace, not perform. I will rest in grace while pursuing purpose. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”  — Matthew 7:24 2. Order in the Home Reflects Order in the Heart There is a powerful connection between the spaces we live in and the lives we lead. Clutter competes for attention, while order creates room to breathe, think, and rest. Solid wood storage pieces — dressers , sideboards, cabinets, and hutches—do more than hold belongings. They provide structure , warmth , and a sense of permanence  in a world that often feels disposable. “Let all things be done decently and in order.”  — 1 Corinthians 14:40 At Cinnamon Cabin Co, our storage pieces are built with intention. Solid wood provides strength, stability, and beauty that cannot be replicated by mass-produced furniture. Choosing well-made, solid wood storage is a quiet but meaningful resolution: To invest in quality over quantity To choose timeless design  over passing trends To create a home that feels calm, grounded, and welcoming Just as faith forms a foundation for the soul, solid wood forms a foundation for the home—strong, reliable, and built to last. 3. Beauty with Purpose: Why Solid Wood Storage Matters Attractive solid wood furniture blends function and beauty . Clean lines, natural grain, and thoughtful craftsmanship remind us that usefulness does not have to sacrifice elegance. When your home is organized with intention: Mornings begin with less stress Evenings feel more restful Daily life flows more smoothly These small, steady benefits mirror the Christian walk—quiet faithfulness, practiced daily, shaping a life over time. “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord.”  — Colossians 3:23 Natural wood grain, careful joinery, and timeless design reflect the value of doing work well, even when it goes unseen. Faith, too, is often lived quietly—through steady obedience and faithfulness in everyday tasks. 4. A New Year Built on Lasting Foundations As you step into the New Year, consider resolutions that won’t fade by February: Faith  that anchors you in grace Order  that supports daily living Quality  that reflects lasting values Salvation by faith reminds us that our worth is secure. Solid wood storage reminds us that what we build—and how we live—should be built to last. “The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”  — Isaiah 40:8 From all of us at Cinnamon Cabin Co , we wish you a New Year filled with peace, purpose, and a home built on what truly lasts. ~ Katherine

  • Christmas Meaning: Canadian-Made Furniture and Faith in Jesus

There’s something about Christmas that makes people notice furniture. Maybe it’s because Grandma suddenly needs one more chair . Or because the dining table is asked to support not only turkey and mashed potatoes, but also heated debates about whose turn it is to say grace. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe Christmas furniture should be strong enough to handle real life—family gatherings, laughter, crumbs, and yes, the occasional spilled gravy. That’s why we focus on Canadian-made solid wood furniture , built to last longer than the fruitcake no one admits they regift every year. Why Canadian-Made Furniture Just Feels Right at Christmas Canadian winters are not gentle. Neither are toddlers, teenagers, or enthusiastic Christmas guests. Furniture made in Canada is designed with this reality in mind—solid wood, skilled craftsmanship, and attention to detail that doesn’t rely on mystery fasteners or instructions translated three times. When you invest in a solid wood table, bed frame, or cabinet from Cinnamon Cabin Co, you’re not just buying furniture—you’re buying heirlooms. The kind that gets passed down, scratched up, repaired, and loved. Much like family traditions. And honestly, nothing kills Christmas cheer faster than a wobbly chair during Christmas dinner. The Deeper Meaning Behind the Wood and the Season Christmas isn’t really about the table , the chairs , or even the perfectly styled living room (Pinterest can relax). At its heart, Christmas is about Christ —God stepping into our broken, messy world, not unlike guests stepping into a home full of kids, noise, and chaos. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”  — Luke 2:11 Just as solid wood furniture is built on a strong foundation, our faith rests on Christ—the cornerstone. The furniture we make is meant to gather people together, but Jesus is the one who gives those gatherings lasting meaning. Niagara Shaker Bed Built with Purpose—Then and Now At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we love building furniture that serves a purpose: hosting meals, supporting families, and creating spaces where memories are made. In the same way, God created each of us with intention. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”  — Ephesians 2:10 This Christmas, as you gather around a Canadian-made table , remember that the greatest gift didn’t come wrapped in paper—it came wrapped in humility, love, and grace. And unlike most Christmas gifts, Jesus doesn’t require assembly . Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a wonderful 2026! ~ Katherine

  • Christmas Decisions: Change Dining Chairs, and Choose Christ

There’s something about Christmas that brings decisions to the surface. Big ones. Small ones. Important ones. And surprisingly… chair-related  ones. You might be standing in your dining room right now, looking at your table dressed up for Christmas dinner—candles glowing, grandma’s good dishes ready—and thinking, “These chairs have seen things. Mostly spilled gravy.” At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we fully support wise Christmas decisions. Replacing worn-out dining chairs with solid wood, Canadian-made craftsmanship? Excellent choice. Choosing Christ in the middle of the holiday rush? Even better. The Christmas Dining Chairs Dilemma 🎄 Dining chairs work hard at Christmas. They hold: Extra relatives Extra desserts Extra stories told for the hundredth time If your chairs wobble, creak, or threaten to collapse when Uncle Bob leans back, it may be time for a change. Solid wood dining chairs bring stability, warmth, and durability—just what a busy Christmas gathering needs. Our handcrafted chairs at Cinnamon Cabin Co are built to last through decades of holiday meals, laughter, and yes… the occasional mashed-potato incident. Decisions That Matter More Than Furniture While choosing new dining chairs can make Christmas gatherings more comfortable, there’s another decision that carries eternal weight. Christmas isn’t just about what we gather around —it’s about who we gather for . The birth of Jesus reminds us that God stepped into our messy, noisy world—not unlike a full dining room at Christmas. Christ didn’t come for perfect homes or perfect people. He came for us as we are. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15 (NIV) A Table Set with Purpose At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we love building furniture that brings families together—but we also believe the most important thing at the table isn’t the chair or the table itself. It’s the love, grace, and faith shared across it. This Christmas, go ahead: Change the chairs Upgrade the dining space Make room for more guests And most importantly, choose Christ —the One who offers rest for weary hearts and hope that lasts far longer than any piece of furniture. Because solid wood chairs may support your family for generations… but Christ supports your soul for eternity. ~ Katherine

  • Christmas Memories: Solid Wood Coffee Tables & Christ

At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we know there’s something magical about a solid wood coffee table —especially around Christmas. Maybe it’s the way it anchors a room, maybe it’s the way it manages to catch every single  mug ring you promised you’d wipe up later, or maybe it’s because it becomes the unofficial gathering place for everything from hot chocolate to board games to that one relative’s “famous” fruitcake. (We’re still not sure if it’s famous for the right reasons.) Why Solid Wood Coffee Tables Shine at Christmas Solid wood coffee tables are the unsung heroes of the holiday season: Durability:  They can handle a whole family’s worth of Christmas cheer and still look good in January. Warmth:  Wood brings a cozy, natural feel that pairs beautifully with twinkling lights and the smell of pine. Character:  Every knot and grain helps tell a story—just like the stories passed around your living room during the holidays. Let’s be honest—your coffee table probably hosts more holiday traditions than your dining room. From assembling gingerbread houses (and sweeping up the structural failures) to wrapping those last-minute presents, it’s the centerpiece of Christmas chaos and Christmas joy. Christmas Memories & The Heart of the Season Here at Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe the best Christmas memories aren’t just made—they’re shared . Families gather around the coffee table, piling it with treats, laughter, and maybe one too many sprinkles. But beyond the décor, the cookies, and the cozy atmosphere, there’s a deeper warmth in the room: the presence of Christ. Christmas isn’t simply about traditions—it’s about remembering the One who came to bring hope to the world. Even as we enjoy the glow of lights and laughter, the true radiance comes from Jesus Christ. Just like a handcrafted coffee table anchors your living room, Christ anchors our lives with strength, peace, and unwavering love. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” — Luke 2:11 At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we love helping you create a home worth gathering in—one filled with warmth, purpose, and plenty of Christmas memories. But the greatest memory of all is the birth of Jesus, the ultimate gift of grace. May your coffee table be full, your home be cozy, and your heart be reminded of the joy that Christ brings. ~ Katherine

  • Christmas Delight: Canadian-Made Dining Tables and Devotion.

Demo Waterloo table & chairs Christmas has a way of drawing people together—around living rooms, kitchens, and especially dining tables . There’s something about shared meals, warm gatherings, and clinking dishes that reminds us of the deep joy of the season. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we love this time of year because our Canadian-made dining tables are built exactly for moments like these: moments filled with laughter, stories, and the beautiful togetherness that makes Christmas feel like Christmas. Gathering Around Dining Tables Made With Care There is a unique delight in choosing a dining table handcrafted from solid Canadian wood. It’s more than furniture—it’s a place where life happens. Canadian-made tables carry a rugged dependability, shaped by skilled hands and a heritage of craftsmanship. These are tables made to be passed down, to hold countless meals, and to stand strong through every season. Demo Waterloo table At Christmas, they become even more special. They hold gingerbread-decorating messes, steaming mugs of cocoa, and plates of holiday favourites. They become stages for family traditions and conversation. In a world where so much feels mass-produced and rushed, a handcrafted dining table slows life down. It invites people to gather with intention. The True Delight at the Heart of the Season But Christmas is so much more than festive décor, good food, and cozy gatherings. The real delight of Christmas comes from the gift God has given us through His Son. Scripture reminds us: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” — Luke 2:11 Demo Strathroy table This is the foundation of Christmas joy: Jesus came, not to be served, but to serve. He entered our world in humility and brought with Him a hope that no celebration, gift, or tradition could ever replace. And just as a dining table is a place of fellowship, Jesus Himself invites us into the most meaningful fellowship of all—relationship with Him. His presence is the ultimate warmth in our homes and the true light in our lives. A Season for Homes and Hearts At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe in creating furniture that becomes part of your family story. But more importantly, we believe in the story God is still writing in every heart. As you gather around your dining table this Christmas—whether new, old, small, or large—may it remind you of the deeper invitation Christ extends to all of us: to come, to sit, to rest, and to know Him. Because while tables host our meals, Jesus is the One who nourishes our souls. May your home be full of joy this Christmas, your table full of love, and your heart full of the hope found only in Christ. ~ Katherine

  • Christmas Warmth: A Solid Wood Bed Frame & Jesus.

There’s something about Christmas that makes us crave warmth—not just the kind that comes from a crackling fire or a cozy blanket, but the kind that settles the soul. And while most people start decking the halls with garlands and twinkle lights, many forget one of the most under-rated places to create that Christmas glow: the bedroom. A Solid Wood Bed Frame: The Foundation of Cozy Christmas Comfort Picture this: soft Christmas lights glowing in the corner, a pine-scented candle flickering on the dresser, and at the center of it all, a beautifully crafted solid wood bed frame. There’s a reason wood has been used for generations to bring warmth into a home. It carries texture, depth, and a sense of quiet tradition—much like the season itself. A solid wood bed frame instantly makes a room feel grounded. Its natural grains and rich tones add warmth without trying too hard. Whether you dress it up with plaid flannel sheets, a chunky knit throw, or a few festive pillows, it becomes the anchor of a space that invites rest during an otherwise bustling season. And let’s be honest—Christmas is full of late nights wrapping gifts, early mornings with excited kids, and often a house full of guests. A sturdy, beautiful bed frame doesn’t just add aesthetic appeal; it offers long-lasting comfort, dependability, and a reminder that some things—like quality craftsmanship—never go out of style. Warmth That Goes Beyond Wood and Winter Décor But as lovely as a cozy bedroom can be, Christmas warmth isn’t just built with wood, blankets, and lights. There is another kind of warmth that outshines all others—the warmth of knowing Jesus. At Christmas, we celebrate that God Himself stepped into our world, wrapped not in fine linens but in simple swaddling cloths. Jesus came to bring peace to the restless, hope to the weary, and light to those sitting in darkness. His presence offers the deepest kind of comfort—one that can fill a home even when the tree needles start falling and the decorations eventually come down. While a beautifully crafted bed frame can bring rest to your body, Jesus brings rest to your soul. He invites us into a peace that isn’t seasonal and a joy that doesn’t depend on how polished our homes look or how perfect our celebrations turn out. The True Warmth of Christmas As you prepare your home and add touches of coziness this season, let your heart be reminded of the greatest gift ever given. A warm, inviting bedroom may help you sleep well—but knowing Christ helps you live  well. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28) That is the warmth Christmas is really all about.

  • Stain Colours: Practical for Real Families (and Real Life)

Practical Stain Colours That Actually Work for Families Dark Walnut stain At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we know homes aren’t magazine showrooms—they’re lived in. They’re filled with sticky fingers, snack crumbs, energetic pets, and the wonderfully unpredictable rhythm of family life. Choosing a stain colour isn’t just an aesthetic decision—it’s a practical one that can help your home stay beautiful without constant worry. 1. Medium Browns: The Family’s Best Friend Warm walnut, chestnut, and medium oak tones are consistently our top recommendations for busy households. Medium browns camouflage small bumps and day-to-day wear while offering a classic, welcoming warmth that suits nearly any décor style. 2. Natural & Light Finishes: Brighter Than You’d Expect Natural oak, maple, and light-wash stains bring a fresh, airy feel to a room—perfect for modern or farmhouse-inspired homes. Many families are surprised to learn that light colours actually hide dust better than darker stains. They create a fresh look while remaining wonderfully low-maintenance. Light colours (other than white) also hide scratches and dents much more than dark stains. 3. Grey & Driftwood: Stylish and  Stress-Free For families who love a contemporary vibe, grey stains are a smart (and stylish!) pick. Their Driftwood stain multi-toned appearance helps fingerprints, water rings, and small imperfections blend into the wood grain instead of standing out. 4. Dark Espresso: Gorgeous with a Little Grace Espresso and deep java stains bring rich drama to a space, but they do show dust and smudges more easily. If your heart is set on a dramatic dark finish, we recommend purchasing a stain marker in the same colour, so you can easily hide the "life marks" families make. 5. The Finish Matters as Much as the Colour At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we use durable topcoats designed for real homes—not showroom-only furniture. Our finishes help protect your investment from everyday life, keeping your furniture looking beautiful year after year. The clear-coat used on our furniture doesn't require placemats or coasters to keep the finish beautiful - it stands almost every test. . .except maybe a hot pot straight from the stove! Black stain A Final Thought: Beauty, Life, and the Grace That Covers Us Choosing the right stain colour helps a family home stay beautiful despite the bumps, spills, and imperfections of daily living. In a similar way, our lives show their own scratches—mistakes, regrets, and rough edges we can’t always hide. But the hope of the gospel is this: we aren’t saved by how good we look on the outside. Salvation is a gift of grace, received by faith in Jesus alone. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8 ~ Katherine

  • Custom Kitchen Concepts: Kitchens that make Sense (and Make You Laugh)

If you’ve ever stood in a kitchen and thought, “Why is there a six-inch gap beside my fridge big enough for a toddler to disappear into?”  — you’re not alone. Factory-made kitchens often rely on fillers, odd gaps, and layouts that feel a bit like someone measured your house with a rubber tape. But at Cinnamon Cabin Co , we’re committed to building custom Canadian-made kitchens that actually fit  your home and lifestyle—without the mysteries, the wasted corners, or the “what were they thinking?” moments. 1. Less Wasted Space: Every Inch of a Custom Kitchen Earns Its Keep A Cinnamon Cabin Co kitchen uses space with the efficiency of a Mennonite grandmother baking for a Sunday potluck. Those weird corners? Transformed into genius storage. That sliver beside your stove? Suddenly a spice pullout instead of a dust-collection zone. Custom layouts mean your kitchen works smarter, harder, and cleaner—so you don’t have to. 2. Fewer Fillers: No More Random Board Bits Fillers are the kitchen world’s equivalent of stuffing socks under a table leg—sure, it works, but it’s not exactly elegant. At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we don’t need to “fake fix” the gaps; we build the cabinetry to the exact dimensions of your home. That means fewer awkward gaps, fewer dust-collecting voids, and fewer “Why is this here?” moments. Instead of forcing stock pieces to fit, our custom craftsmen create cabinetry that belongs in your house as naturally as your coffee addiction belongs in your morning routine. 3. Extra Features: The Fun Stuff That Makes You Say “Oh Wow” Want a hidden cookie-sheet drawer, a mixer lift, a toe-kick vacuum, or a cabinet specifically for your twelve types of herbal tea? Custom kitchens say, “Yes. All of it. Let’s make it happen.” Suddenly your kitchen isn’t just a room—it’s a finely tuned command center. The kind of space where you feel like a culinary superhero simply because you can pull your garbage bins out with the softest whisper known to mankind. Extra features also help your kitchen serve you , rather than making you twist like a gymnast to reach that one bowl that only comes out at Christmas. Everything has a purpose, a place, and a way of making your daily life smoother than a well-whipped meringue. A Final Thought: Craftsmanship and the Carpenter Who Crafts Us A truly custom kitchen is designed with intention—every piece built for a purpose, every gap filled, every feature added thoughtfully. And that same intentionality is reflected in our faith. Christ, the Master Carpenter, shapes our lives with the same care: filling what’s empty, refining what’s rough, and adding gifts we never knew we needed. As Scripture says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”  (Ephesians 2:10). At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we strive to bring that heart of purpose and service into every kitchen we build—so your home is crafted with meaning, inside and out. ~ Katherine

  • Unfinished and Unstained: The Beauty of Natural Solid Wood Furniture and God’s Handiwork

Caledonia Coffee Table There’s something deeply peaceful about unstained solid wood furniture  — the way the light catches the natural grain, the smoothness of a hand-sanded surface, and the simple honesty of a board that hasn’t been covered, coated, or concealed. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we’ve always admired that kind of beauty — the kind that doesn’t shout, but quietly shines. It’s the kind of beauty you find in nature, in faith, and in the way God works on each of us: patiently, purposefully, and with great care. The Honest Beauty of Bare Wood When you leave solid wood unstained, you’re allowing it to tell its own story. Each knot, grain, and color variation becomes part of the furniture’s unique charm . There’s no artificial coloring to hide behind — only the truth of the wood itself. That’s a lot like the way we are before God. He sees us — not as we try to appear, but as we truly are. There’s beauty in that honesty. “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7 Just as each board of Canadian maple or oak has its own character, each of us carries marks and patterns from the life we’ve lived. And just as a skilled craftsman brings those patterns together into something strong and beautiful, God uses our imperfections to create something meaningful and lasting. Blyth Farmhouse Shaker Chair tall The Pros and Cons of Unstained Solid Wood Furniture In furniture-making, leaving wood unstained has both its strengths and challenges — and maybe that’s another reflection of life itself. Pros: Natural Beauty:  The wood’s true colors and grain shine through — pure and authentic. Healthier Choice:  Fewer chemicals, fewer finishes — just the clean scent of real wood. Craftsmanship on Display:  When nothing is hidden, every detail must be done with care. Cons: Less Protection:  Without a finish, wood can be more vulnerable to scratches or spills. Changing Over Time:  Sunlight and age may alter its tone, giving it a lived-in look. More Maintenance:  It may need gentle care, like occasional oiling, to keep it nourished. And yet — isn’t that true for us too? When we live with openness and authenticity, we might be a little more vulnerable. We might change over time, and we certainly need care and renewal. But those very things are what make us genuine. The Maker’s Touch Unstained furniture reminds us that true craftsmanship doesn’t depend on a surface finish — it depends on what’s underneath. The structure, the joinery, the way it’s built to last. And our lives, too, depend not on the surface, but on our foundation — Jesus Christ. Huron Nightstand “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11 When we’re rooted in Him, even in our unfinished state, we’re still part of something solid. A Natural Choice — and a Spiritual One Choosing unstained solid wood furniture  isn’t just a design decision — it’s a statement of appreciation for simplicity, honesty, and enduring quality. It’s an invitation to slow down, to enjoy what’s real, and to let the Creator’s handiwork show through. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we believe in celebrating that kind of beauty — the kind that comes from skilled Canadian craftsmanship and from the Creator’s perfect design. ~ Katherine

  • Amazing Canadian-Made Furniture Workmanship and Amazing Grace

Simcoe Classic Table There’s something special about watching a craftsman at work — the careful sanding, the perfect joint, the patient brush of stain that brings the grain to life. In a world of fast and flimsy, Canadian-made furniture  stands apart. Each piece is built with a kind of reverence — not just for the wood, but for the work itself. It’s more than a product; it’s a story of hands, heart, and heritage. That same spirit of excellence reminds us of an even greater kind of workmanship — the handiwork of God. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”  When we think about a beautifully crafted table or bed frame , it’s a small reflection of how intricately and purposefully we’ve been made. Niagara Shaker Bed A local craftsman might shape maple or oak into something lasting and strong, but God shapes our hearts through His amazing grace. • Grateful Tables and Thankful Hearts: A Canadian Thanksgiving to Remember

Thanksgiving in Canada comes with a familiar checklist: Turkey? Check. Mashed potatoes? Check. Pumpkin pie? Double check. That one relative who insists ketchup belongs on everything? (Sigh.) Check. But as we gather around our solid Canadian-made tables , elbows bumping and gravy boats sailing precariously close to the edge, we can’t help but feel truly thankful —not just for the feast before us, but for the people around it. Thankful for You — Our Customers This Thanksgiving, we’re especially thankful for you—our amazing customers who choose Canadian-made furniture and, in doing so, choose quality, craftsmanship, and community. Every table sanded, every chair stained, every bed frame built becomes part of your story. We’re grateful for the conversations shared across those tables, for laughter that shakes the walls, and even for the coffee rings that prove life is happening there. (Yes, we said it—coffee rings can be a sign of love and living!) Serving with Purpose At the heart of our work is more than wood and stain . We believe our craftsmanship is a calling—a way to serve both our customers and our Creator. Every dovetail joint and polished finish is done “ as unto the Lord ” (Colossians 3:23). That means when we’re making your furniture, we’re not just working with our hands; we’re working with our hearts. Building something lasting and beautiful is our small way of echoing the creativity of the Master Carpenter Himself. Thanksgiving: A Reminder of Grace Thanksgiving reminds us that gratitude isn’t just for the good times. It’s for the growth times, too—the seasons where business slows, or sawdust fills the air a little more than profit does. Even then, we remember: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”— 1 Thessalonians 5:18 It’s amazing how the scent of sawdust and the sound of laughter can mingle into worship. Gratitude doesn’t always need to be fancy—it can be found in a well-built chair , a satisfied customer, or a prayer whispered between projects. A Few (Lighthearted) Canadian Thanksgiving Tips Before you head off to your feast, a few friendly reminders from your favourite Canadian furniture folks: Don’t lean too far back in your chair after dessert—it’s sturdy, but your waistband might not be. If you spill cranberry sauce on your table, remember: forgiveness and a soft cloth go a long way. And if you’re giving thanks around the table, include the people who made it—both the family who gather and the hands that built the furniture that holds the feast. Thankful for the Greatest Gift Finally, we’re thankful for the greatest gift of all— salvation through Jesus Christ . No matter how full our tables or our tummies, true satisfaction is found in Him. This Thanksgiving, may your home be filled with joy, your heart with gratitude, and your table with love that lasts longer than leftovers. From our showroom to your home— Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for letting us serve you, for Christ. ~ Katherine

  • Built by Family, Blessed by Faith: How Canadian-Made Furniture & God's Family Go Hand in Hand.

Cambridge Live Edge Table There’s something special about family-run businesses — especially the ones that still answer the phone with a real human voice and sign thank-you cards with ink instead of pixels. And when that business builds Canadian-made solid wood furniture , you’re not just buying a table — you’re bringing home a piece of craftsmanship that’s been prayed over, planed, sanded, and finished by a family who actually cares. But here’s the twist: being part of a family-run business has a lot in common with being part of the family of God . Both involve a lot of love, a little sanding around the rough edges, and plenty of grace when the varnish doesn’t dry quite as expected. 1. Family-Run: Where “Teamwork” Includes Sawdust and Coffee In a family furniture shop, there are no strangers — just brothers, sisters, cousins, and occasionally the neighbor who stopped by once and never left. Everyone pitches in. One person sands. Another stains. Someone else insists that “oak is superior” while the rest of the family rolls their eyes and keeps building maple. It’s not always neat, and it’s definitely not quiet — but that’s family. It’s people working together toward something solid, something lasting. Kind of like the church. In the family of God , we’re all different pieces of the same set. Some are table legs — strong, Fort Erie Coffee Table sturdy, dependable. Some are the decorative trim — beautiful and encouraging. And some of us, well, we’re the squeaky drawer that doesn’t slide quite right yet. But together, we make something beautiful: the body of Christ, built by love and held together by grace. 2. Canadian-Made Furniture: Solid Craftsmanship and Steadfast Faith There’s a reason Canadians take pride in local craftsmanship. It’s about quality, honesty, and care  — the same virtues that define a Christ-centered life. When something is handmade, it bears the mark of its maker. Each knot, grain, and groove tells a story — just like we carry the fingerprints of the One who made us. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” That word “workmanship” could easily be translated “masterpiece.” And that’s exactly what we are — handcrafted by a Creator who doesn’t mass-produce His children. Canadian-made furniture is known for its integrity — no shortcuts, no particleboard pretending to be wood. And in the same way, faith built on Jesus isn’t imitation either. It’s the real deal: strong, enduring, and ready to withstand a few bumps along the way. 3. The Family of God: No Assembly Required (Well, Almost) Being part of the family of God isn’t like assembling flat-pack furniture. You don’t need an Allen key, three extra screws, and a YouTube tutorial to belong. You’re welcomed as you are — scratches, scuffs, and all. The church is a workshop of grace, where God is constantly sanding, shaping, and refinishing us until we reflect His design. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, but it’s worth it. The result? A community that’s as sturdy as a Mennonite-built dining table and just as inviting. Romans 8:15 says, “You received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, ‘Abba, Father.’” That’s family — not by birth, but by love. The Final Coat of Finish Simcoe Classic Round Table When you buy Canadian-made furniture from a family-run shop , you’re not just investing in wood and nails — you’re investing in people, in values, in legacy. And when you join the family of God , you’re stepping into something even greater — a forever home built not by human hands, but by divine love. So whether you’re sanding a table or shaping your soul, remember: Both take time. Both require patience. And both are best built on a solid foundation — Jesus Christ. Closing Thought Family-run businesses build with care. God builds with compassion. And when we bring both together — craftsmanship and calling — we don’t just make furniture; we make fellowship. ~ Katherine

Lambton Shaker Bed Ever notice how a good night’s sleep can turn you from a grumpy bear into a civilized human? The secret isn’t just the pillow, or how many times you pressed snooze this morning—it’s the foundation beneath you. Not just the mattress, but the bedframe itself . And if you want one that won’t squeak, sag, or collapse when you flop onto it after a long day, Canadian solid wood is where it’s at. Why a Canadian Solid Wood Bedframe is Worth It A solid wood bed, handcrafted by Canadian makers, isn’t just furniture—it’s a commitment. • Stand Out Stains: Canadian-Made Tables, Chairs, and the Beauty of Contrast

Niagara Smooth table Canadian-made furniture is celebrated for its quality craftsmanship, and nothing showcases that better than solid wood tables and chairs with contrasting stain colours. A handcrafted dining table with a rich, dark walnut top paired with lighter, natural maple legs doesn’t just serve meals — it becomes a statement piece. Complementary chairs in matching tones highlight the grain and character of the wood, proving that handcrafted dining sets can be both functional and inspiring. The beauty of contrasting stains isn’t just about furniture design — it’s about perspective. Light stains reveal warmth and subtle detail, while dark stains highlight depth and strength. Together, these contrasts create balance and elegance that a single tone could never achieve. Handcrafted furniture, especially Canadian-made solid wood dining sets , thrives on these differences, making each piece unique and memorable. Strathroy Round Table In life, we see the same principle. Our stories include moments of joy and seasons of challenge. The highs and lows, like light and dark stains, combine to reveal the full beauty of our character. And at the center of it all is Jesus Christ. He took the darkest stain of sin upon Himself and transformed it into the brightest hope through His resurrection. As Scripture reminds us: “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ”  (2 Corinthians 4:6). Niagara Sawcut Table Whether admiring a Canadian solid wood dining table with its contrasting stains or reflecting on life’s own contrasts, remember this: contrast isn’t something to hide. It’s what makes beauty shine brighter. Handcrafted furniture shows it, and Jesus Christ proves it — turning darkness into light and every life into a story worth sharing. ~ Katherine

  • Dining & Coffee Tables: Surface Styles and Solid Rock Faith

Simcoe Classic Table When you walk into our furniture showroom at Cinnamon Cabin Co , it doesn’t take long to notice the variety of dining and coffee table surfaces. Some are smooth and glossy, like a freshly waxed floor that you’re too afraid to walk on barefoot. Others are rustic and rough-hewn, complete with saw marks and grooves deep enough to hide a Lego. Some tables are sleek and modern, all sharp lines and polished finishes. Others look like they were made from the reclaimed barn wood of your great-great-uncle’s hayloft. And here’s the thing—underneath all those different looks, the wood is still wood. It’s not secretly plastic pretending to be oak. It’s not laminate with a nice Instagram filter. Whether it’s hand-planed wormy maple or distressed pine, the surface style doesn’t change the substance. Sounds a lot like us humans, doesn’t it? Coffee Table Theology Some of us are shiny and polished—we’ve learned to hide our rough edges, put on a good front, and make sure the fingerprints get wiped off before anyone notices. Others are rustic—we wear our scars proudly, complete with dents, scratches, and the “patina of life.” And some of us are a little more eclectic—you never quite know what you’re going to get. But no matter the surface, we’re all in need of a foundation. Just as every table is only as strong as the wood it’s built from, we’re only as steady as the Rock we’re standing on. Jesus said it Himself: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”  (Matthew 7:24). The storms came, the winds blew, but the house stood firm because of Who it was built on—not because of how nice the shutters looked. Dining Table Surface Disguises Imagine inviting friends over for dinner. You carefully set the table—candles, napkins folded into swans (or maybe just into rectangles, depending on your patience), a centerpiece that looks Pinterest-worthy. Your guests sit down, and before long, forks are clinking, someone spills their water, and the fancy napkins get used to wipe spaghetti sauce off a toddler’s face. Caledonia coffee table No matter how nice the surface looks, life happens. Spills, stains, and scratches come. And that’s why what’s underneath matters more than the shine on top. The surface might change, but if the table is solid wood, it endures. That’s the Christian life in a nutshell. Some days we look polished, other days we’re dented and stained. But the real question is—what are we built on? Styles and appearances shift, but if our foundation is Christ, we stand firm. Coffee Rings and Grace Rings One of the great mysteries of life is how a coffee cup can leave a ring on a table even if you set it down for half a second. (Seriously, scientists should study this.) Those rings are frustrating on furniture, but in faith, rings of grace are a good thing. Every mark left on our lives by God’s grace tells a story. Every scratch redeemed, every dent restored, every coffee ring of kindness—it’s proof that we’re being used, loved, and made part of His bigger picture. The Punchline: So whether you’re a rustic sawcut table with character grooves, a modern coffee table with Sawcut Dining Table clean lines, or a glossy dining set that could blind someone with its shine—remember this: it’s not about the surface. It’s about the solid foundation. Tables come in many finishes. People come in many styles. But there’s only one Solid Rock that can hold us up when the weight of life gets heavy—and that Rock is Jesus. So the next time you set your coffee down, or wipe spaghetti sauce off your table, take a moment to thank God for His grace—and for the solid wood of faith that never splinters. ~ Katherine

  • Wood Stains With Depth, God's Grace That Lasts

wood stain samples How Wood Stain Reacts to Grain and Sanding If you’ve ever worked with Canadian handcrafted furniture , you know that wood stain doesn’t always behave the way you expect. The same color on two boards can look different depending on the wood grain . Sometimes, if the surface wasn’t sanded evenly, certain spots soak in deeper and look darker. Even the length of dry time  can change the finished shade. It’s part of the beauty and the challenge of working with real solid wood furniture —you can guide the process, but the final look isn’t always in your control. The Grain of Our Lives In many ways, our lives can feel like that too. We each carry our own unique grain—the stories, experiences, and choices that shape us. Sometimes we’ve sanded well, other times we’ve left rough spots where hurt or regret has settled deep. And when sin leaves its mark, the stain can look darker than we’d ever want anyone else to see. French Walnut stain Sin Stains vs. Christ’s Cleansing Power But here’s the good news: no matter how uneven the finish, no matter how dark the stain, Jesus can make us new. Scripture reminds us, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow”  (Isaiah 1:18). Where we see only blotches and blemishes, He sees the potential for restoration. Restoration Beyond the Woodshop Unlike woodworkers, Jesus isn’t limited by the grain or the dry time. He doesn’t just cover over the stains of sin—He removes them. What’s left is a heart made clean, a life restored, a story retold with grace. A Final Reminder So next time you watch stain bring out the unique beauty of solid wood , let it remind you: our differences, our scars, even our missteps, are not beyond His redemption. Wood stain might deepen and darken, but the stain of sin is no match for the cleansing love of Christ. ~ Katherine

  • Elbows Up: Standing Strong for Canadian-made Furniture and Christ.

Maple coffee table Canadians are known for being polite — we apologize when someone else bumps into us , we hold doors open even when the person is still half a rink away, and we say “sorry” at least ten times a day. But when it comes to supporting what matters, Canadians know how to go “elbows up.” Take Canadian-made furniture , for example. When you buy local, handcrafted pieces built from our own maple, oak, or walnut, you’re not just bringing home a dining table or a bedframe — you’re investing in families, communities, and a tradition of quality. “Elbows up” here means choosing solid wood over shortcuts, craftsmanship over quick imports, and values over convenience. It’s holding your ground for something that lasts. Rockwood Dining table Christians, too, are called to live “elbows up.” But instead of a lineup at the furniture store, we’re in a much greater struggle — one of faith. Paul writes in Ephesians 6:16, “Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”  Elbows up, shield raised — that’s the posture of a believer standing firm against doubt, fear, and the pressures of a world that often values the temporary over the eternal. When we hold the shield of faith high, we’re not being rude or pushy. We’re showing courage, protecting our hearts, and guarding the truth we’ve been entrusted with. Just like Canadian-made furniture is built to endure, faith rooted in Christ stands strong through storms, generations, and eternity. As Paul also reminds us in 1 Corinthians 16:13: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”  That’s the true picture of “elbows up” living. So whether you’re choosing Canadian-made furniture or choosing faith, let’s be the kind of people who aren’t afraid to square our shoulders and lift our elbows. Canadians can proudly say, “We’ll support what’s made here at home.” And Christians can boldly say, “We’ll stand with Christ, shield of faith in hand.” Elbows up, Canada. Elbows up, Christians. Support what’s built to last — in your home, and in your heart. ~Proud to be a Canadian Christian, Katherine

  • Resting on a Solid Wood Bedframe, Resting in Jesus

Lambton Shaker Bed There’s something deeply comforting about crawling into bed at the end of a long day—especially when that bedframe is handcrafted from real, solid wood. No wobbles, no creaks, no “hold your breath and hope it doesn’t collapse.” Just sturdy craftsmanship you can rely on, night after night. In many ways, our spiritual rest works the same way. When life leaves us weary, we need a foundation that holds us secure. And that foundation is found in Jesus. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  – Matthew 11:28 Why Solid Wood Bedframes Matter Solid wood furniture isn’t about show; it’s about substance. A real wood bedframe doesn’t just look nice—it carries the weight of your life, literally. In the same way, resting in Christ isn’t about surface-level faith or appearances. It’s about trusting that His strength, not ours, holds us steady when life feels heavy. Rest that Lasts A flimsy frame eventually gives out. Veneer chips, particleboard warps, and shortcuts don’t last. But a solid wood bedframe endures. The same is true with Jesus. The rest He offers isn’t temporary escape, but deep, soul-level renewal. Huron Mission Bed When we rest in Him, we’re not just taking a break; we’re finding a secure place to lay down our burdens, fears, and striving. He becomes our strength beneath us—unshakable, dependable, everlasting. Building Our Rest At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we invest in quality solid wood furniture because we know it’s worth it. How much more should we invest in our walk with Christ? Time in prayer, Scripture, worship, and fellowship isn’t wasted—it’s building the solid “frame” that supports our lives. So tonight, when you lay down on your solid wood bedframe , let it remind you: true rest comes not just from good craftsmanship, but from Christ’s finished work on the cross. That’s a foundation you can trust forever. ~ Katherine

  • Counting the Cost - Canadian-made Kitchens & Christ-following Believers.

When you first price out a custom Canadian-made Mennonite kitchen, you might need to sit down. Not because the quote is outrageous — it’s actually fair — but because your legs suddenly feel like they’ve turned into boiled spaghetti. The sticker shock is real. You could buy a small used car for that. Or at least enough frozen pizzas to survive a year in a basement apartment. But here’s the thing: those kitchens are worth it . They’re built with care, integrity, and wood that didn’t come from a questionable warehouse in a country you’ve never heard of. Dovetail drawers Mennonite craftsmanship is about more than cabinets — it’s about creating something that lasts a lifetime, with dovetail joints on our drawers, and finish work so smooth you could butter your toast on it. At Cinnamon Cabin Co , we'd be privileged to provide you with your kitchen or simply a new island! But here’s where my mind wandered (and I promise, this made sense in my head at the time): Jesus once said, “Count the cost”  (Luke 14:28). And He wasn’t talking about granite countertops or soft-close drawers. He was talking about following Him. Being a Christian isn’t a quick weekend project from the spiritual clearance aisle — it’s a lifetime commitment, built with the kind of integrity that won’t warp under heat. Both a Mennonite kitchen and a life of faith require: A Solid Foundation  – Mennonites build on level floors and sturdy frames. Jesus builds on the Rock (Matthew 7:24). If you build on particleboard or shifting sand, expect trouble. Time and Skill  – You don’t slap together a kitchen in an afternoon. You don’t build a Christlike life in one Sunday either. Upfront Cost, Long-Term Payoff  – The initial “price” feels big. For the kitchen, it’s money. For faith, it’s surrender, change, and sometimes giving up your comfy old ways. But the payoff? In both cases, worth every bit. The truth is, cheap kitchens and cheap faith share a problem — they both fall apart under pressure. But invest in quality, whether in your cabinetry or your walk with God, and you’ll have something beautiful and enduring. So, is the cost worth it? Ask anyone who’s been cooking in the same Mennonite kitchen for 40 years. Ask anyone who’s been walking with Jesus even longer. Spoiler: the answer’s the same. ~ Katherine

  • Quality Takes Time - In Handcrafted Furniture and Faith

Cedar Canoe shelf We live in a world that wants everything yesterday . Fast food, fast fashion, fast furniture. (You know, that bookshelf you “assembled” in 7.5 minutes that now leans like it’s emotionally unstable.) But let me tell you something that should never be rushed: a good piece of handcrafted Canadian furniture — and a solid life of faith . Let’s start with the furniture. Here at Cinnamon Cabin Co, we know a thing or two about quality. Canadian winters are long, our forests are full, and our craftsmen have learned how to turn maple, oak, and walnut into masterpieces that could survive a moose stampede and still look beautiful in your dining room . When something is handcrafted , it’s not just slapped together with mystery wood, duct tape, and hope. It’s carefully measured, shaped, and finished — with patience, intention, and pride. And that’s exactly how God works with us. See, faith isn't a fast-food drive-thru. You don't just order "one salvation combo, hold the suffering" and get instant spiritual maturity in a to-go bag. Nope. God is in the business of slow crafting  — hand-planing the rough spots, sanding down our pride, and building something that lasts. As the Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:6 , “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  In other words: God’s not finished with you yet — but He’s not in a rush, either. Bluewater Dining table Christ doesn’t mass-produce faith. He doesn’t crank out cookie-cutter Christians on an assembly line. He shapes us individually, with the same kind of care a master woodworker gives a table he’s building for his own home. And like that dining room table , we’re meant to hold the weight  of life, love, and community — not just look good in an Instagram reel. So the next time you're tempted to microwave your spiritual growth or furnish your soul with flimsy, flat-pack faith, remember this: Quality takes time. Double X-Back chair Let God work on you the way a good Canadian craftsman works on a dining chair — slowly, intentionally, and with great love. The result? A life that doesn’t just stand the test of time — it becomes something that blesses generations. Bonus Tip:  If your faith feels wobbly, don’t worry — even the best chairs need a few adjustments now and then. That’s why we have prayer, community, and maybe a touch of wood glue. ~ Katherine

  • Solid Joints and Steady Faith: The Blessing of Consistency (in Ontario-made Furniture and in Ontario Life)

Cambridge live edge coffee table. Let’s talk about something we all appreciate but rarely celebrate: consistency . Now, I get it—consistency isn’t the flashiest virtue. It’s not the jaw-dropping live edge table that makes your friends jealous or the cedar adirondack chair that looks like it has a story to tell over campfire coffee. But without consistency, you know what you get? A wobbly table and a wobbly life. Here at Cinnamon Cabin Co, we’re proud of our Ontario-made furniture. We’re not about glue-and-staple shortcuts or mass-produced mystery wood. We’re about solid joinery, durable finishes, and good old-fashioned craftsmanship —the kind that holds up through family dinners, game nights, and possibly the occasional toddler tantrum. Huron dresser drawer You want to know why our Ontario-made furniture lasts? Because every cut, every joint, every finish is done with consistency.  Not just on Tuesdays. Not just when the sun is shining and the coffee was good. But every day , in every piece . The kind of quality that becomes invisible because it simply never fails. And isn’t that exactly what faith in Jesus Christ should look like? We love the mountaintop moments—the big breakthroughs, the answered prayers, the “ah-ha!” revelations. But faith that holds up over time? That’s built in the ordinary. The daily. The faithful. Like reading your Bible even when it’s Leviticus. Like praying even when it feels like you’re talking to the ceiling. Like showing kindness when sarcasm would be much more fun. James 1:22  says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”  In other words, don’t just admire the design— build it into your life. You can’t call a chair "well-made" if the legs only hold up on Sundays. And you can’t call a faith "mature" if it only shows up when life is Pinterest-perfect. Just like good furniture, a strong faith is not performative . It’s durable . It stands firm when life leans heavy on it. It doesn’t creak when the weather changes. It’s not perfect, but it is dependable. So the next time you sit at a handcrafted Ontario-made table from us, think about what holds it together. Think about the care, the consistency, the commitment to quality we at Cinnamon Cabin Co put into it. And maybe let it remind you to keep showing up in your own walk—with God, with others, and with yourself. Because faith—like furniture—isn’t just about how it looks. It’s about how well it holds up. ~ Katherine

  • Real Believers - Built Like Real Wood

Post 4: What Authentic Faith Looks Like. Strathroy Trestle table base In a world full of polished veneers and shiny surfaces, it’s easy to be impressed by what looks good on the outside. But as anyone who’s ever bought furniture knows, there’s a big difference between a piece that’s solid wood and one that’s just a thin layer glued over particle board. The first lasts through storms, weight, and time. The second might look good for a season, but under pressure, it cracks. The same is true of faith. Authentic faith is like real wood furniture —solid, dependable, and crafted to endure. It’s not about appearances or perfect finishes. It’s about what’s beneath the surface—character, integrity, and strength built over time. James 1:22 reminds us, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”  Real believers live out their faith. Not just in Sunday moments, but in daily decisions. Not with loud declarations, but quiet acts of grace and humility. Genuine faith isn’t about performing. It doesn’t need to prove itself. Like real wood, it shows its strength in the way it holds up under pressure. It forgives even when it’s hard. It serves when no one sees. It trusts when the answers don’t come easy. It’s consistent. Not perfect—but consistent. sturdy Muskoka Ranch chair In contrast, performative faith might look impressive, but it can’t hold much weight. It’s fragile. It chips easily. It depends on applause or approval. It knows how to sound spiritual, but struggles to act with love behind closed doors. Real believers aren’t perfect people. They’re just honest ones. They know they need grace every day, and they give it freely to others. Their faith shapes how they treat people, how they make decisions, how they love their families and forgive their enemies. Just like a well-crafted table that serves generation after generation, a life built on authentic faith becomes a place where others gather, grow, and find shelter. So let’s build lives that last—not out of hollow religion or thin facades, but out of the kind of faith that lives, breathes, and acts. Let’s be people of real wood, not spiritual plywood. Believers that endure are believers that act.  And the world needs more of that kind. ~ Katherine

  • Real Answers: Asking Hard Questions, Finding Honest Truth about Furniture & Faith.

Post 3: The True Answer for Tough Questions. solid walnut coffee table At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we're all about crafting solid wood furniture that stands up to tough treatment. Sometimes that comes with hard questions, and when you ask a question about our furniture, we aim to give you a real, honest answer - whether the topic is easy or not. While everything should go right, we all know life isn't always like that, and building solid wood furniture isn't either. We'd rather not have to deal with difficulties when it comes to your dining table or chairs - but we're determined to offer you real. ..real answers to your honest inquiries. Faith isn’t about having all the answers tied up in a neat bow. It’s not about pretending we’re never confused, never skeptical, or never struggling to believe. In fact, real faith makes space for real questions—especially the hard ones. It dares to press in, wrestle through, and refuse the fake gloss of easy answers. We live in a world filled with sound bites, slogans, and surface-level solutions. Sometimes, even our churches can feel more like furniture showrooms —polished, curated, and staged just right—rather than places where honest, sometimes messy truth is welcomed. But just like cheaply-made furniture that looks good but collapses under pressure, shallow faith can’t hold the weight of real life. Dining table built to last The good news? Jesus never shied away from the hard questions. People asked Him about suffering, about politics, about morality, about eternity. He never deflected, never gave half-truths to smooth things over. He was direct, clear, and radically compassionate. Whether talking to a confused religious leader in the middle of the night or a woman with a complicated past at a well, He didn’t avoid the uncomfortable. He leaned in. And when Thomas voiced his doubt, unsure of where Jesus was going or how to follow, Jesus responded with these simple, profound words: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." — John 14:6 (NIV) He didn’t give a map. He gave Himself. solid trestle base table The truth of Jesus isn’t some theological veneer we tack onto life to make it look good. It’s the solid, crafted foundation underneath everything—strong enough to handle storms, questions, and even our doubts. Biblical truth is never afraid of scrutiny, and grace-filled honesty is not weakness; it’s what gives faith its integrity. So, ask the hard questions. Wrestle with the mysteries. Don’t settle for shallow answers that don’t ring true, whether about furniture or faith. Faith that avoids doubt isn’t strong—it’s brittle. But faith that walks through the fire and still finds Jesus walked through the fire, too, and is standing on the other side? That’s the kind that holds up. We build real furniture out of solid wood . Let’s build lives not out of fake, flimsy surface—but out of something real, something eternal. Let’s build on Truth . ~Katherine

  • Real Wood: Building a Life that Holds Up

Post 2: Living a Life of Substance, not Surface. Lambton Shaker Bed In a world fascinated with appearances, it’s easy to get caught up in living for the surface. Filters, facades, and carefully curated lives flood our screens, often masking what’s real. But deep down, most of us long for something more. We want lives that last longer than our solid wood furniture—hearts that hold steady when the storms roll in. Just like when we purchase a bedframe or sideboard , we don’t want veneer; we want real wood. Veneer might look like solid wood from a distance, but it’s just a thin layer covering something far less durable. It scratches easily. It warps in heat. It doesn’t endure. Real wood, on the other hand, is solid all the way through. It has grain and texture—marks of authenticity. It may have knots and imperfections, but it holds up. It’s strong. It lasts. The same is true of our lives. When we build with surface-level strength—depending on popularity, possessions, or public approval—we’re living veneer lives. They might look polished, but they won’t withstand the pressure. When life gets hard (and it always does), a surface-built life will crack. Decor on a real wood table But a life rooted by faith in Jesus Christ is different. It's not flashy. It may not always be noticed. But it's real. It's deep. It's strong. God gives us this picture in Jeremiah 17:7–8 : “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” That’s what a real-wood life looks like. Deeply rooted. Unshaken in drought. Bearing fruit even in hard seasons. Trust in God is what gives us this kind of strength—the kind that doesn’t need to impress but knows how to endure. So how do we live that kind of life? Cultivate roots.  Spend time in God’s Word. Let it sink into your soul. Water with prayer. Roots aren’t visible, but they’re vital. Choose depth over display.  Don’t settle for looking good on the outside. Go deeper. Ask hard questions. Cooperate with Jesus in changing you from the inside. Seek real growth. Let God shape your character.  Like real wood, you’ll have imperfections—but God uses those to tell a story of grace and strength. Be real about your struggles and how Jesus gave you the victory in them. In the end, real wood isn’t about being flawless—it’s about being faithful. It’s about standing strong through the years, shaped by storms but not destroyed by them. Build a life that holds up. Build furniture with real wood. Build with us at Cinnamon Cabin Co. ~ Katherine

  • Being Real: Real Wood, Real Answers, Real Believers

Post 1: Solid Foundations - Why Real Matters Signs on a Bayfield Metal Base Table In a world full of filters, fine print, and phony promises, being real  has become almost countercultural. Whether it’s the furniture we buy, the advice we seek, or the faith we live—authenticity matters more than ever. . .especially to us at Cinnamon Cabin Co. Let’s start with something simple: real wood . You know it when you see it. It's solid, a little imperfect, and it holds up under pressure. Unlike particle board or laminate, real wood tells a story. It carries the grain of time, and every knot and line makes it unique. Our furniture is made from real wood. Our purpose is that your dining table and chairs , or bedroom suite , or canoe shelf would be genuine - telling your family story, teaching that imperfection doesn't change quality, and truly able to stand up under the pressure. The same goes for people. We don’t need to be polished or perfect—we just need to be solid . Real. Genuine. Niagara Sawcut Table That leads to something deeper: real answers . Life is messy. People are complicated. Questions come fast and answers don’t always show up on time. But when they do, we want them straight. No sugarcoating, no vague encouragements. Just truth, spoken in love. Real answers don't avoid hard questions; they walk through them—sometimes slowly, sometimes with tears, but always with integrity. At Cinnamon Cabin Co, we strive to give you authentic answers. Not just the "right" answer, but the real one. Whether it's about stain colour, production timeframes, custom options , or your questions about life challenges or faith in Jesus Christ , we commit to giving you the real answer every time. And then there’s the heart of it all: real believers  in Jesus. Not just churchgoers or people who quote Scripture online but live differently offline. Real believers are like that solid wood—strong, tested, maybe a little worn, but dependable. They mess up. They repent. They keep going. They live out their faith, not for show, but because they believe —deeply and honestly—that Jesus is the real deal. Josh and I are believers in Jesus, not just when life's going good, but when life's, well....real. Point Pelee canoe shelf Being real isn’t about being flawless. It’s about being faithful. It’s about admitting when you’re wrong, showing up when it’s hard, and trusting that God’s grace is enough for all the rough edges we’re still working through. Staying still under the sander of situations as God smooths us into the image He created us to be. We're praying that God will help us to stay real - real in business, real in worship, real in serving others. So whether you’re looking for new furniture , looking for direction, or looking to follow Jesus a little more closely today—choose what’s real. Real wood. Real answers. Real believers. Because in the end, real always lasts. ~ Katherine *This is the first post to a four-part series on living authentically in Christ.

  • Round vs. Rectangle Dining Tables: The Great Ontario Showdown.

Waterloo Harvest Table When it comes to the heart of the home—no, not your dog’s bed in the sunniest corner—it’s your dining table . This sacred space is where spaghetti is flung, water is spilled, and those deep, post-dinner debates over whether pineapple belongs on pizza happen. But if you're in the market for a new table (especially one proudly made right here in Ontario), you're probably facing one of humanity’s oldest and most heated dilemmas: Round or Rectangle? Ontario is known for a lot of things—beautiful forests, unpredictable weather, and being politely opinionated—but choosing the right table shape? That’s a uniquely Ontario domestic debate. Let’s break it down. The Case for the Round Table: Peace, Love, and Elbow Bumping There’s something timeless about a round table. It whispers of equality, like King Arthur’s famous round table—except yours will have fewer knights and more casserole. Pros: No corners = no bruised hips.  You know the pain. One wrong turn and boom—corner to thigh. A round table says, “Relax, friend. I value your circulation.” Conversation game is strong.  No one gets stuck at the far end yelling, “What did Aunt Linda say about the lasagna?” Everyone is equally close (and equally exposed to Uncle Jerry’s poor puns). Perfect for smaller spaces.  If your dining room doubles as an exercise studio or a “home office,” round is your friend. Cons: Limited seating.  Try cramming eight people around a four-seater round table and it quickly becomes a game of Human Jenga. Leaves you vulnerable to the Lazy Susan Wars.  You think it’s a civil dinner until someone spins the bean dip away mid-scoop. Harder to fit in corners . Literally. If you're a fan of efficient wall placement, this may bug you. The Rectangle Table : A Classic Power Move If the round table is a "friendship" circle, the rectangle is a boardroom. It says, “We make decisions here… and serve gravy with authority.” Cambridge Live Edge Table Pros: More seating, more power.  Ideal for families, dinner parties, or if you’re just really into displaying your 12-piece candle holder. Great for long rooms.  If your dining room is shaped like a train car, the rectangle was basically built for it. Clear head of the table.  Perfect if you want to establish dominance or pretend you're hosting a dramatic Victorian dinner party. Cons: Corners. The sworn enemy of knees everywhere. Conversations can turn into long-distance shouting matches.  “What? No, I said pass the salt , not ‘It's your fault!’” You might need opera-level-projection. Inconvenient food placement. You might need arm extensions to get the food to the next person. What About the Ontario-Made Factor? Oh, we haven’t forgotten that. Whether you go round or rectangle, choosing a table handcrafted in Ontario means you’re getting quality, sustainability, and enough solid wood to make a lumberjack jump for joy. Many Ontario Mennonite woodworkers still use traditional joinery techniques, locally sourced materials, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes your table the star of the room—until your aunt brings her five-layer dip. And bonus: Buying local means you're supporting small businesses instead of mega-corps that treat furniture like fast fashion. So go ahead and brag at your next dinner party: "Oh this? Just a custom rustic maple piece from a little shop in Clinton ." So… Round or Rectangle Dining Table? It depends. Got a small, square space and value inclusivity and thigh health? Go round . Hosting the entire extended family for every holiday? Rectangle’s your guy. Want to flip a coin and blame fate? Classic Canadian neutrality. Or just get both. One for the kitchen, one for the dining room. Live your best Ontario-furnished life. Either way, just remember: it’s not the shape of the table that matters—it’s who’s gathered around it (and how good the snacks are). TL;DR: Round = friendly, space-saving, zero corners. Rectangle = classic, more seating, slight power trip. Ontario-made = always the right choice. Now, go forth and furnish responsibly. And don’t forget coasters . Your future self (and your table) will thank you. ~ revised (with chuckling) by Katherine

  • ☕The Coffee Connection: How Canadian-Crafted Coffee Tables, Coasters, & Mugs are Saving Your Sanity (and Furniture)

Let’s be honest: coffee is the glue holding most of us together. It’s the life elixir, the alarm clock’s apology, the reason we tolerate small talk before 9 a.m. But where you drink  your coffee? That matters too. Enter the royal trio of your caffeine kingdom: the coffee table , the coaster , and the mug — preferably Canadian, and preferably crafted by someone who knows their maple from their mahogany. 1. The Mighty Canadian-crafted Coffee Table : More Than Just a Fancy Footrest Sure, you call it a coffee table, but we know it’s a multi-purpose stage. Feet go up. Snacks go down. Devices live (and mysteriously vanish) here. And somewhere in the chaos? A beautiful, solid wood surface, handcrafted in Canada by someone who probably doesn't use (or lose) said devices. These tables are sturdy. Like, "survive-a-kid-jumping-on-it-while-holding-a-grilled-cheese" sturdy. And with grains as gorgeous as a Group of Seven painting, they’re basically functional art. 2. Coasters : The Unsung Heroes of Spill Prevention Look, we know you forgot to use one. Again. But the good news? Canadian-crafted coasters don’t judge—they just look good while doing damage control. Coasters made in London, Ontario Whether they’re made from reclaimed wood, stone, or ceramic that’s more fashionable than half your wardrobe, these coasters bring class to your chaos. Bonus: they also make you look like an adult who has your life together (even if you just Googled “how to clean a couch”). 3. Mugs So Good, You’ll Actually Hand-Wash Them You know that one mug you always reach for? The one that’s somehow the perfect size, weight, and soul-healing vessel of caffeine? Imagine if that mug was designed in Canada , and didn’t say “World’s Okayest Boss” on it. Local designers are out here making mugs so beautiful and unique, you'll start judging people by theirs. “Oh, you drink from a mass-produced novelty cat mug? Interesting…” 🐱 These mugs are cozy, classy, and dangerously collectible. You've been warned. 4. Why Buying Canadian-Crafted Stuff Just Feels Right Because your IKEA table wobbles like a baby deer on ice. Because supporting local makers gives you bragging rights at dinner parties. Because you like wood that didn’t travel 6,000 km to get to your living room. Also: we’re pretty sure every time you buy Canadian, a lumberjack gets his wings. (Unverified, but feels true.) 5. Build Your Dreamy Canadian Coffee Nook Here’s your recipe for cozy, coffee-fueled success: 1 solid wood Canadian-crafted coffee table A few snazzy local coasters (the kind that say “I respect my furniture”) One or more large-handled, large-capacity, lovingly designed mugs Locally roasted beans that taste like comfort and competence A coffee bar sign for snazz Add a blanket and a rainy Saturday for maximum effect. Final Sip Your coffee moments deserve better than a wobbly table, soggy napkin coasters, and a chipped mug from 2011. Elevate your ritual—and your living room—by embracing beautifully crafted Canadian pieces . Because coffee isn’t just a drink. It’s a lifestyle. And your lifestyle should come with great furniture. Shop our Canadian-made coffee tables , coasters & mugs now! ~with coffee love from Katherine! ( Warning: may cause spontaneous home envy from guests. )

  • Picking Styles To Make It a Furniture Set

Happy Friday! Are you looking for a dining furniture set, but just can't decide what chairs to put with your favourite table? Or maybe you've found a chair you love, but you haven't found the perfect dining table to go with it. Today's post is all about picking styles to make it a set. A lot of tables can go with a lot of chairs. The Harvest Trestle Table above is a great example of that! Featured in the middle photo with the table is our Avalon Chair , which is actually going out of stock, however that chair looks fine as part of the set...and so would other chairs! So with leaving behind the elegant styles and going for something in between to rustic, matching the table's style, be choosy and pick your favourite chair. Here's a few to think on! Custom Extendable 2-Tone Table This was a custom job that was completed late last year. The customers wanted the front legs of the chairs to match the legs of the table, which naturally tied them in as a set! When looking for chairs to match a table similar to this style, leave the rustic styles behind and go for something a little more elegant, like the customized Alexandria chairs these customers chose. Basic 2-Tone Table This table is quite basic with really nothing other than colour and wood type to try to coordinate with. The options are quite broad when looking for chairs to match, but what colour should you choose? You can 2-Tone it for a great match or clear coat your favourite chair! Our River Table is a lovely live-edge table with a metal base. If you've fallen in with this table, but simply can't imagine what chair to put with it, let me help! Consider blacks & browns for colours...and for styles? Take a look at the chairs below! Thanks for reading the post! If you have any questions let us know. Leave a comment below and be sure to check back in for a response if you've asked a question!

When they are all good dining chairs, you don't have to worry about cheaping out. • Custom Feature: Warm 2-Tone Dining Set🤍

Happy Friday! Today is the day for our first custom 2 tone feature, a dining set that turned out beautifully. The set left our storefront today, so it's the most recent custom job we've completed. Sit back and appreciate the lovely colours the customers chose! The table ended up being based off of a photo the customers sent to us, while the chairs were a suggestion from us. The chairs are a combination of high quality and comfort, featuring a deep seat. The colours they chose are Provincial and Natural, creating a warm contrast. It turned out wonderfully, and we were pleased with the results. It was a wonderful choice on the customer's part! The table was round with a trestle style base, not unlike our Harvest Trestle Table . The Contour Mission Chairs feature a deep seat as mentioned above, which you can see in the photo. And last of all, the complete set was done in Wormy Maple. Thanks for reading this post!

  • Latte & Wick Candles

Hello everyone! Today let's talk about a relatively new addition to Cinnamon Cabin Co. - Latte & Wick! Latte & Wick is a candle co. that features soy wax, wood wick candles all labelled with drink names - from Lavender Lemonade to Espresso Shot. Don't think you've ever heard of it? Probably not. Latte & Wick is not just another big-time candle co., it's a joint venture between two sisters, Fallyn McCarthy (Latte & Wick) and Kaitlyn McCarthy from Cinnamon Cabin Co. What makes these candles unique? In a world full of candles, you've got options galore when it comes to choosing your favourite, but these candles offer class + uniqueness wrapped up in a black vessel. They are topped off with a bamboo lid and are filled with undyed soy wax, complete with a wooden wick. Sound perfect? Come in and see for yourself!

  • Dining Chairs - what one is the best? Part 2.

Hello all! Last week we jumped into this topic giving our attention to price points of different chairs in our showroom; this week is focused on another aspect to consider when choosing your new dining chairs - style. Yep, you read it right! This post is all about dining chair styles and how to pair them with your new dining table or your current dining table to create a lovely set! Not everyone gets a table with their new dining chairs. If you're one of those people, grab a cup of coffee and a cozy blanket and snuggle up to read and think about what would suit your dining table best. If you're looking for a new dining table as well, this post is still for you! Either way, get comfy and ready to be inspired. While I have a lot more options to offer you then what's instore, I'm keeping this series of posts limited to our instore styles. These are the styles you can typically sit in and experience the comfort before purchasing a set. Interested in seeing more styles? Jump over to our lookbook here as soon you're finished with this post. Firstly, think wood type. Rustic lover? Wormy maple is a great wood and kind to the wallet. Bit more of a modern go-to? Give wormy maple, brown maple, and clear maple your consideration. Trying to fit it into your old farmhouse kitchen? Oak might just be the thing! What style is the most popular? Well, there's two chairs, but both feature a similar look. Meet our Mission and Contour Mission. Our Mission is definitely cheaper when it comes to your wallet, but the Contour Mission features a deep seat unlike any other sample chair we have. The Mission is a classic. It's really not huge on any design. Not rustic, not elegant, it's just a classic go-to. It also features a wonderful price point, something we talked about in Part 1 of this blog series. As I said, the Contour Mission offers a deep seat, which is a definite feature of this chair. It's also a bit more elegant then our classic Mission. Many people have enjoyed the comfort this chair lends and it's been a "wow" chair in the showroom! It is a little pricier, but make the decision after you sit in both. What chairs suits your own comfort level best? Wanting to go a bit more modern? Our Modern Shaker, Short Farmhouse Shaker Chair, and Avenue Chair lend more to that feel. The Modern Shaker and Short Farmhouse Shaker Chair offer trend and class, while the Avenue Chair gives sleek lines with a slight bend toward rustic. For the farmhouse feel, opt for our Tall Farmhouse Shaker Chair or Ladderback. Timeless suits you best? Our Mission styles are the way to go! Rustic-lovers, don't be afraid to go with the timeless Mission. Think about going with a rustic table, then add in your chairs to complement your statement table! Take your table into consideration when choosing your chairs. Is your table bulky or delicate? Would rustic, modern, timeless or elegant suit the table best? What overall feel are you trying to achieve? What kind of wood is your table? Do you want the set to be a focal point, the table to be the definite statement piece of the set, or do you want a simple table with the chairs setting the vibe? When it comes down to it, what do you want? Questions? We're here to help. Feel free to comment below! Please keep your comments kind and considerate and feel welcome to pop in a suggestion for a future post! Thanks and until next week, be safe and healthy!

  • Simply White - NEW STAIN OPTION!

Hello! First of all, I apologize that this is not Part 3 of our current blog series. We don't have a Ladderback chair instore at the time of me writing this post, so it would be a little difficult for me to comment on it's comfort personally as I couldn't sit in it! Instead, I'm introducing a new colour - Simply White! When you hear Simply White, what did you think of? The current trend for kitchen cabinets? Literally white? Simply White is a transparent stain that offers the answer to anyone who loves the look of raw wormy maple, but would like it protected from life's unavoidable messiness. It looks SO close to raw wormy maple, but features the protection our finishing offers. Below is a photo of a Simply White Avenue Chair beside an unfinished 25" Saddle Stool. Simply White Stain It's such a close colouring and is now available on all our standard furniture. Pair with another colour to create a 2-Tone, leave it on its own, or go for Simply White chairs instead of Black chairs for your dining table. Consider puttting our new stain option, Simply White, however you'd like and be creative! Thanks so much for reading! Leave a comment below! Be kind and considerate and always feel free to pop in a suggestion for future posts. Until next time, stay safe and healthy!
