Whether you're furnishing a farmhouse kitchen, updating a cottage, or searching for handcrafted wooden bar stools made in Ontario, this solid maple stool combines practical everyday seating with the enduring appeal of real hardwood furniture.

Classic Round Wooden Seat with Timeless Styling

The distinctive feature of the Dublin Rodo Stool is its round solid wood seat, offering a traditional alternative to rectangular saddle stools and larger high-back counter chairs.

Its simple, backless design creates an open, uncluttered appearance, making it especially attractive for kitchen islands and breakfast bars where space and visual simplicity are important.

The round seat also provides flexible seating access, allowing the stool to be approached from different directions without the limitations of a fixed backrest.

With its understated wooden design, the Dublin Rodo Stool complements farmhouse, rustic, country, traditional, and cottage-style interiors. It also pairs naturally with painted kitchen cabinetry, solid wood dining tables, and other handcrafted hardwood furniture.

Solid Maple Construction – Ontario Mennonite Craftsmanship

Crafted from solid maple hardwood, the Dublin Rodo Round Stool showcases the strength, natural grain, and attractive appearance of genuine wood furniture.

Maple is appreciated for its relatively smooth grain, durability, and versatility, making it a popular choice for kitchen and dining furniture. Its natural appearance works beautifully with a variety of stain finishes, allowing it to coordinate with both light and dark kitchen cabinetry.

Each Dublin Rodo Stool reflects the traditional woodworking skills associated with Ontario Mennonite furniture making, combining quality materials with practical furniture design.

Unlike lightweight disposable seating, solid wood furniture offers the opportunity for years of everyday use when properly maintained.

Two Convenient Heights – Counter Stool or Bar Stool

The Dublin Rodo Stool is available in two seating heights to accommodate different kitchen and entertaining spaces.

24-Inch Dublin Rodo Counter Stool

The 24-inch seat height is a practical choice for many standard kitchen islands and breakfast counters measuring approximately 34–36 inches high. It provides convenient seating for casual meals, morning coffee, and family gatherings.

30-Inch Dublin Rodo Bar Stool

The 30-inch seat height is designed for taller home bars, raised countertops, and entertainment areas measuring approximately 40–42 inches high.

Available Seat Height	Recommended Use
24 inches	Kitchen islands and standard-height counters
30 inches	Home bars and raised bar-height countertops

For comfortable seating, allow approximately 10–12 inches between the stool seat and the underside of your countertop. Measuring your available clearance before ordering will help you select the appropriate height.

Versatile Wooden Seating for Kitchens, Cottages, and Home Bars

The Dublin Rodo Round Maple Stool offers a versatile seating option for homeowners who appreciate traditional wooden furniture without unnecessary ornamentation.

Its round seat and backless construction make it useful in a variety of settings, including:

Kitchen islands: Practical seating for breakfasts, snacks, and casual family meals.
Breakfast counters: A traditional wooden alternative to upholstered kitchen stools.
Home bars: Classic bar-height seating for entertaining family and friends.
Cottages and cabins: Natural hardwood furniture that complements rustic and country interiors.
Open-concept kitchens: Simple backless seating that maintains an open appearance.

The understated design allows the stool to blend with a variety of dining chairs, kitchen tables, and other solid wood furniture pieces.

Custom Stain Options for Your Maple Stool

The natural grain and attractive appearance of maple provide a beautiful foundation for different stain finishes.

Available stain selections allow you to coordinate your Dublin Rodo Stool with existing kitchen cabinets, dining tables, hardwood flooring, and other furniture throughout your home.

Whether you prefer the lighter appearance of natural maple or a richer stained finish, this wooden counter or bar stool offers the timeless appeal of solid hardwood.

Because wood is a natural material, subtle differences in grain and colour may occur, giving each handcrafted stool its own individual character.

1. Is a 14-inch round wooden stool seat comfortable for everyday use?

A 14-inch round wooden seat provides a compact seating surface that works particularly well for casual kitchen seating, breakfast counters, and home bars. Its circular shape allows you to approach the stool from different directions, while its backless design makes it convenient for shorter periods of sitting. Comfort depends on individual preferences and how long the stool will be used. For extended meals or longer sitting periods, some homeowners may prefer a larger seat or a stool with back support.

2. What are the advantages of a round wooden stool compared with a saddle stool?

Round wooden stools offer a traditional, symmetrical seat design that complements many kitchen styles. Unlike contoured saddle stools, which have an elongated seating surface, round stools provide a simple circular seat that can be approached from any direction. Both styles are practical for kitchen islands and breakfast counters. The best choice depends on your preferred seating shape, available space, and the appearance you want to achieve.

3. How many Dublin Rodo Stools can fit comfortably around a kitchen island?

Although the Dublin Rodo Stool features a compact 14-inch seat diameter, adequate spacing is still important for comfortable seating. A useful guideline is to allow approximately 24 inches of counter space per person, with additional room when possible. Remember that the stool's leg footprint may extend beyond the seat diameter. Consider available knee space, countertop supports, and nearby walkways when determining how many wooden counter stools will fit your kitchen island.

4. Is solid maple a good hardwood for kitchen stools and bar seating?

Yes. Maple is a popular hardwood for kitchen and dining furniture because of its strength, relatively fine grain, and ability to withstand normal everyday use when properly constructed and maintained. Solid maple stools can be a practical choice for frequently used kitchen islands and home bars. As with all natural wood furniture, protecting the finish from excessive moisture, harsh cleaners, and unnecessary impacts will help preserve its appearance.

5. Are backless wooden bar stools a good choice for smaller kitchens?

Backless wooden stools can be particularly useful in smaller kitchens because they create a less visually crowded appearance than high-back seating. Depending on the countertop overhang and stool dimensions, they may also be positioned beneath a counter when not in use. Their simple design allows flexible seating arrangements around kitchen islands, breakfast bars, and casual gathering areas. Always check the stool's complete leg footprint and available clearance before purchasing.

6. How should I clean and maintain a solid maple counter or bar stool?

For everyday cleaning, wipe your maple stool with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the surface promptly. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads, harsh chemical products, and prolonged exposure to water, which may damage the wood finish. Felt pads beneath the stool legs can help protect hardwood, laminate, or vinyl flooring. Periodically inspect the stool's joints and hardware, particularly in busy family kitchens where stools are moved frequently.
