Choose a Solid Top or Expandable Dining Table

Solid Top Dining Table

The solid-top Niagara X-Base Dining Table provides a continuous tabletop without extension leaves. Its sturdy construction and distinctive X-shaped base create an attractive centrepiece for everyday dining, family gatherings, and entertaining.

This option is ideal for homeowners who prefer a fixed-size dining table with a clean, uninterrupted surface.

Expandable Dining Table

For additional flexibility, choose the Niagara X-Base Expandable Dining Table, designed with two convenient 12-inch extension leaves that store inside the table when not in use.

The expandable model offers three practical table lengths:

Without Leaves: 42"W × 66"L
With Two 12" Leaves: 42"W × 90"L

The self-storing leaves make it easy to accommodate additional guests without requiring separate storage space for the extensions. Enjoy a comfortable everyday dining table that expands when family and friends gather.

Three Distinctive Wood Surface Options

Personalize your Niagara Solid Wood Dining Table with one of three beautiful surface styles.

Saw-Marked: Features intentional saw marks that create a textured, rustic appearance. The distinctive markings highlight the natural grain and character of wormy maple, making this option especially attractive for farmhouse, cottage, and country-inspired dining rooms.

Smooth Rustic: Offers a smoother surface while retaining the warm, natural character of rustic wood. Its subtle texture and visible grain create a balance between traditional farmhouse appeal and a more refined appearance.

Smooth: Features a carefully smoothed wood surface that showcases the natural grain patterns and colour variations of solid wormy maple. This option complements traditional, transitional, and contemporary dining spaces.

Each surface offers its own distinctive appearance while celebrating the natural beauty of real hardwood.

Solid Wormy Maple and Ontario Mennonite Craftsmanship

The Niagara X-Base Dining Table is handcrafted from solid wormy maple, a distinctive hardwood valued for its natural colour variations, mineral streaks, and unique grain patterns. These natural features give every table its own individual character.

The striking X-shaped base adds architectural interest while complementing the generous solid wood tabletop. Together, they create a substantial dining table that combines practical function with timeless design.

1. What is the difference between the Solid Top and Expandable Niagara X-Base Dining Tables?

The Niagara Solid Wood X-Base Dining Table is available in two configurations to suit different dining needs. The Solid Top features a fixed tabletop without extension leaves, making it an excellent choice for everyday dining and homeowners who prefer a continuous wood surface. The Expandable version includes two convenient 12-inch extension leaves that allow the table to accommodate larger family gatherings. Both configurations feature the distinctive X-shaped base, solid wormy maple construction, and your choice of three attractive wood surfaces.

2. What sizes are available for the Niagara X-Base Expandable Dining Table?

The Niagara X-Base Expandable Dining Table measures 42 inches wide by 66 inches long without extension leaves. Adding one 12-inch leaf increases the length to 78 inches, while using both leaves extends the table to 90 inches. The two extension leaves conveniently store inside the table when not in use, eliminating the need for separate leaf storage. This flexibility makes the Niagara an excellent solid wood dining table for everyday meals, holidays, and entertaining guests.

The Niagara Solid Wood X-Base Dining Table is available in three distinctive wood surface options:

Saw-Marked: Features intentional saw marks that create a textured, rustic appearance, highlighting the natural character of wormy maple.

Smooth Rustic: Offers a smoother surface with subtle rustic character and natural wood grain, providing a balance between farmhouse warmth and refined styling.

Smooth: Features a carefully smoothed wood surface that highlights the natural grain and colour variations of solid wormy maple.

All three options are available for both the Solid Top and Expandable configurations, allowing you to personalize your table to complement your dining room.

4. Why is solid wormy maple a good choice for a dining table?

Solid wormy maple is a durable hardwood known for its distinctive grain patterns, natural mineral streaks, and warm colour variations. These characteristics give each Niagara X-Base Dining Table a unique appearance while providing the strength and substance customers appreciate in quality solid wood furniture. Handcrafted by Ontario Mennonite furniture makers, this table combines the natural beauty of Canadian hardwood with traditional woodworking craftsmanship.

5. Can I customize the stain colour or finish of the Niagara X-Base Dining Table?

Yes! The Niagara Solid Wood X-Base Dining Table is available in a selection of stain colours, allowing you to coordinate your new dining table with existing furniture or create a distinctive look for your home. Depending on your preferences, a two-tone finish may also be available for an additional charge, creating an attractive contrast between the tabletop and X-shaped base.
