Huron Solid Wormy Maple 7-Drawer Dresser – Ontario Mennonite Bedroom Furniture

Beautifully Organized. Naturally Distinctive.

A dresser should do more than hold your clothes. It should bring order to your bedroom, complement your furniture, and offer the kind of quality that makes everyday use a pleasure.

The Huron Solid Wormy Maple 7-Drawer Dresser from Cinnamon Cabin Co. brings these qualities together in one beautifully handcrafted piece of Ontario Mennonite furniture.

Measuring an impressive 64 inches wide, this solid wood bedroom dresser offers generous storage through seven thoughtfully arranged drawers. Three smaller drawers stretch across the top, while four larger drawers below provide space for folded clothing, linens, and other bedroom essentials.

The natural markings of Wormy Maple, distinctive Huron base design, and your choice of drawer handles give this dresser a character all its own.

Whether you're furnishing a new bedroom or replacing an older dresser, the Huron offers a welcoming combination of traditional woodworking and practical modern convenience.

Seven Drawers Designed Around Everyday Life

Not every item in your bedroom needs the same amount of storage space. That's what makes the Huron's drawer arrangement so useful.

Three smaller upper drawers provide convenient places for socks, accessories, undergarments, and personal belongings. Keeping these smaller items separated makes them easier to organize and find.

Beneath them, four larger drawers arranged in two rows offer additional room for folded shirts, sweaters, pants, and other clothing.

This combination of smaller and larger drawers makes the Huron especially practical for couples sharing a dresser or families looking for better bedroom organization.

At 64 inches wide, the dresser also provides a substantial wooden top for a mirror, lamp, framed photographs, or favourite decorative pieces.

Beautiful Drawers, Inside and Out

Some of the most important features of a quality dresser are found where you might not immediately notice them.

The Huron features solid wood drawer construction with traditional dovetail joints. These interlocking joints help create strong drawer corners designed to withstand regular opening and closing.

Each drawer is fitted with undermount soft-close slides, allowing it to close smoothly and quietly without the abrupt impact of traditional drawer runners.

Because the slides are mounted beneath the drawers, the hardware remains less visible when the drawers are opened, maintaining a clean appearance.

The combination of solid wood drawers, dovetail joinery, and soft-close operation adds practical value to a dresser that will be used every day.

Wormy Maple – Where Every Piece Has Its Own Character

The Huron Dresser is crafted from solid Wormy Maple, a hardwood appreciated for its beautiful natural variations.

Also known as Ambrosia Maple, this distinctive wood features unique streaks, contrasting grain patterns, and natural markings that bring warmth and personality to finished furniture.

Rather than trying to make every dresser look identical, Wormy Maple allows the character of the wood to become part of the design.

The Huron's broad drawer fronts provide an attractive setting for these natural patterns, while its distinctive angled base adds architectural interest without overwhelming the room.

Your choice of drawer handles offers another opportunity to personalize the dresser, allowing you to complement traditional, farmhouse, Mission, or more contemporary bedroom styles.

1. Is a 7-drawer dresser a practical choice for two people sharing bedroom storage?

Yes. The Huron 7-Drawer Dresser offers a convenient combination of three smaller upper drawers and four larger lower drawers, making it easier for two people to organize their belongings. The larger drawers can be divided between individuals, while the smaller drawers provide separate spaces for accessories and everyday essentials. This arrangement is especially useful for couples who want shared bedroom storage without relying entirely on separate dressers.

2. Can I place a large bedroom mirror above the Huron 7-Drawer Dresser?

The Huron Dresser's 64-inch width makes it an attractive foundation for a decorative wall mirror. A mirror can help reflect natural light and create a more open feeling in the bedroom. Choose a mirror that is proportionate to the dresser and secure it appropriately to the wall rather than assuming the dresser can support its weight. A coordinated mirror can also help create a more complete bedroom furniture arrangement.

3. What is the advantage of undermount drawer slides compared with traditional side-mounted slides?

Undermount drawer slides are positioned beneath the drawer rather than along its visible sides. This creates a cleaner appearance when the drawer is open and allows the solid wood drawer construction to remain more visible. The Huron Dresser's undermount slides also feature soft-close operation, helping the drawers close smoothly and quietly. The exact extension and load capacity depend on the slide hardware used.

4. Is the Huron 7-Drawer Dresser suitable for storing heavier clothing and bedding?

The four larger lower drawers provide useful space for folded jeans, sweaters, sleepwear, and other clothing. Smaller linens may also fit, depending on their size and thickness. Because the drawers are constructed from solid wood with dovetail joints, they offer the benefits of traditional hardwood drawer construction. However, heavy items should be distributed appropriately, and the manufacturer's drawer weight limits should always be respected.

5. How can I make the most of the 64-inch dresser top without making my bedroom look cluttered?

A wide dresser top offers plenty of opportunities for practical storage and decoration. Consider arranging items in small groups rather than spreading them evenly across the entire surface. A mirror or framed artwork can create a central focal point, while a lamp, jewellery tray, or decorative box adds useful functionality. Leaving some open space allows the natural Wormy Maple grain to remain visible and helps maintain a balanced appearance.

6. What should I consider before moving a solid wood dresser into an upstairs bedroom?

Before delivery, measure stairways, hallways, door openings, and tight corners to confirm that the Huron Dresser can reach its intended location. Its overall dimensions are 64 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 36 inches high, so turning space is particularly important. Solid wood furniture can be substantial in weight, and professional assistance may be appropriate for moving it safely. Once positioned, the dresser should be properly secured against tipping before use.
