Dashwood Round Expandable Dining Table

The Dashwood Round Expandable Dining Table brings together timeless solid wood craftsmanship and the flexibility needed for everyday dining. Handcrafted in Ontario by skilled Mennonite furniture makers, this table features a beautifully proportioned round top, a sturdy pedestal base, and the natural warmth and character of solid wormy maple.

Available in 42" and 48" round sizes, the Dashwood is an excellent choice for kitchens, breakfast areas and dining rooms where you want comfortable seating without overwhelming the space. The pedestal design keeps the area beneath the table more open, making it easier to arrange chairs around the table.

A Round Table That Expands When You Need More Room

One of the best features of the Dashwood is its ability to provide additional dining space when family and friends gather. The expandable option accommodates two leaves, allowing you to enjoy the inviting feel of a round dining table for everyday meals while having extra room available for larger gatherings.

When the leaves aren't needed, the Dashwood returns to its compact round shape—ideal for homes where dining space needs to be both practical and versatile.

Crafted from Solid Wormy Maple

Each Dashwood table is made from solid wormy maple, a Canadian hardwood appreciated for its distinctive grain, natural markings and warm character. Variations in the wood mean no two tables will look exactly alike, giving every Dashwood its own authentic solid wood appearance.

Choose from a selection of stain colours to complement your existing furniture and décor. Because these tables are individually handcrafted, the result is a piece of furniture designed to be enjoyed for years rather than simply replaced when styles change.

Ontario-Made Solid Wood Craftsmanship

The Dashwood isn't a mass-produced dining table. It is handcrafted in Ontario by Mennonite furniture makers using traditional solid wood furniture-building methods. From the substantial pedestal base to the carefully finished tabletop, the emphasis is on durability, function and lasting craftsmanship.

Whether you're furnishing a country kitchen, traditional dining room or a more contemporary space, the Dashwood offers a simple design that allows the natural beauty of the wood to stand out.

Is the Dashwood Round Expandable Dining Table made from solid wood?

Yes. The Dashwood is handcrafted from solid wormy maple, known for its attractive grain patterns and natural character. Because genuine wood varies from board to board, each table will have its own unique markings and appearance.

What sizes are available for the Dashwood Round Table?

The Dashwood is available in 42-inch and 48-inch round sizes. Both provide the comfortable, conversational seating arrangement people appreciate about round dining tables while keeping the table well suited to kitchens and dining rooms where space matters.

Does the Dashwood Round Dining Table expand?

Yes. The Dashwood is available as an expandable round dining table with two leaves. This gives you a smaller round table for everyday meals with the flexibility to create additional dining space when entertaining family or guests.

Why choose a pedestal base for a round dining table?

A pedestal base eliminates traditional table legs at the corners, providing greater flexibility when positioning dining chairs. This can be particularly helpful around a round table, where you may occasionally want to add another chair when company arrives.

What makes wormy maple a good choice for a dining table?

Wormy maple combines the strength of solid hardwood with distinctive natural markings that give the furniture warmth and personality. Its variations in grain and colour work especially well with handcrafted furniture because they ensure every table has an individual character.

Can I choose the stain colour for my Dashwood table?

Yes. The Dashwood is available in a selection of stain colours, allowing you to choose a finish that works with your flooring, cabinetry, dining chairs and other furniture. Natural variations in solid wood mean the final colour and grain pattern will vary slightly from table to table.

Where is the Dashwood Round Expandable Dining Table made?

The Dashwood is handcrafted in Ontario, Canada, by Mennonite furniture makers. It offers customers an Ontario-made alternative to imported, mass-produced dining furniture.

Is a 42-inch or 48-inch round table better for my room?

The best size depends on your available space and how many people you regularly seat. A 42-inch round table is an excellent option for a smaller kitchen or dining area, while the 48-inch round table provides a larger everyday dining surface. Remember to allow enough space around the table for chairs to be pulled out comfortably.

Is the Dashwood suitable for both kitchens and dining rooms?

Yes. Its clean round top and traditional pedestal base make the Dashwood versatile enough for a kitchen, breakfast area or formal dining room. Your choice of stain and coordinating chairs can give the table anything from a relaxed country appearance to a more refined traditional look.

Can I order chairs to coordinate with the Dashwood table?

Yes. The Dashwood can be paired with solid wood dining chairs to create a coordinated dining set. Different chair styles can also be used to personalize the look while maintaining the durability and character
