Want Solid Wood Ontario Furniture Before Christmas? The Time to Order Is Now
Christmas has a funny way of sneaking up on us.
In September, Christmas feels comfortably far away. There’s still time to enjoy fall colours, rake a few leaves, eat some Thanksgiving turkey, and tell yourself that Christmas shopping is a problem for Future You.
Then suddenly it’s December 18th.
The tree is up, the family is coming, somebody needs a place to sleep, and you’re wondering whether Santa’s workshop happens to build solid wood dining tables.
Unfortunately, we haven’t found Santa’s wholesale number yet.
If you’re hoping to have handcrafted solid wood furniture from Cinnamon Cabin Co. in your home before Christmas, now is the time to place your order.
Handcrafted Furniture Takes Time — And That’s a Good Thing
One of the reasons people choose handcrafted furniture is also the reason you shouldn’t wait until December to order it: good furniture isn’t made overnight.
Our solid wood furniture isn’t rolling off an assembly line by the thousands. Many of our pieces are built to order by skilled Ontario craftsmen who take pride in what they make.
Depending on the piece, your furniture may involve selecting the wood species, stain or finish, size, hardware, and other options before the craftsman even begins building it.
Then comes the actual woodworking.
Cutting. Fitting. Sanding. Building. Finishing. Drying. Inspecting.
There’s a reason handcrafted solid wood furniture feels different when it arrives in your home. Someone actually took the time to build it properly.
And unfortunately, “properly” doesn’t come with Amazon Prime.
Christmas Is One of the Busiest Times of the Year
There is another reason to order early: you’re probably not the only person thinking about new furniture before Christmas.
As fall progresses, orders begin stacking up.
Families want new dining tables before Christmas dinner. Others want bedroom furniture ready before overnight guests arrive. Some are finally ordering that new bed, dresser, hutch, coffee table, or set of dining chairs they’ve been talking about all year.
The closer we get to Christmas, the harder it becomes to guarantee that a handcrafted piece will be completed in time.
That’s why September and early fall are an excellent time to get your order underway.
Waiting until December 10th and saying, “We need a handcrafted oak dining set by Christmas Eve,” may cause our craftsmen to develop a nervous twitch.
Your Christmas Dinner Deserves Better Than a Folding Table
There’s nothing wrong with a folding table.
Folding tables have faithfully served church potlucks, yard sales, family reunions, and Christmas dinners for generations.
But if you’ve been dreaming about gathering your family around a beautiful solid wood dining table made in Ontario, this could be the year to retire the folding table from Christmas duty.
A handcrafted table can become part of your family’s traditions for decades.
Christmas dinners. Birthday cakes. Thanksgiving turkeys. Morning coffee. Homework. Board games. Conversations that last long after supper is finished.
That is one of the beautiful things about real solid wood furniture: it becomes part of the home rather than simply something sitting in it.
Maybe the Guest Room Needs Some Attention Too
Christmas also has an interesting way of reminding us about neglected guest rooms.
Everything looks perfectly acceptable until you discover Aunt Martha is coming for four nights.
Suddenly that twenty-year-old bed frame starts looking suspicious.
If you’re considering a solid wood bed, dresser, nightstand, or complete bedroom set, ordering early gives you a much better chance of having everything ready before your Christmas guests arrive.
And if Aunt Martha still complains about the mattress, at least she can’t blame the bed frame.
Handcrafted Means You Get Choices
Another advantage of ordering your furniture from Cinnamon Cabin Co. is the ability to choose furniture that fits your home rather than simply settling for whatever happens to be sitting in a warehouse.
Depending on the collection and manufacturer, options may include different:
Wood species
Sizes
Hardware
Table configurations
Chair styles
Bedroom pieces
Matching furniture
Those choices are part of what makes handcrafted furniture special.
You’re not simply buying a table.
You’re choosing your table.
But customization takes additional planning, which is another reason early orders are important when you have a Christmas deadline.
Solid Wood Ontario Furniture Makes a Pretty Impressive Christmas Gift
There are Christmas gifts that last until February.
Then there are gifts that might still be around when your grandchildren are grown.
Quality solid wood furniture falls into the second category.
A handcrafted cedar chest, rocking chair, coffee table, dining set, bedroom piece, or other solid wood item can make an unforgettable Christmas gift.
Admittedly, fitting a queen-size solid wood bed under the Christmas tree can be challenging.
We recommend putting a bow on it and calling it good.
Made for Real Homes and Real Families
At Cinnamon Cabin Co., we love furniture that is beautiful, practical, and made to be used.
We offer handcrafted solid wood furniture made by skilled Ontario craftsmen, including dining room, bedroom, living room, office, and occasional furniture.
We’re a Canadian, family-owned and operated furniture store, and we believe there’s still something special about buying furniture built with care by people who know their craft.
Solid wood furniture isn't meant to be disposable.
It’s meant to develop character.
A tiny mark from Christmas dinner doesn’t necessarily ruin a solid wood table. Years later, it may remind you of the Christmas when someone dropped the gravy boat.
We won’t mention names.
So, When Should You Order for Christmas?
Now is the safest answer.
If having your furniture before Christmas matters to you, ordering early gives our craftsmen the time they need to build and finish your furniture without relying on a Christmas miracle.
As Christmas gets closer, production schedules become increasingly full, and availability can change.
So if you’ve been considering that new dining table, bedroom set, bed, dresser, hutch, chair, coffee table, or another handcrafted piece, don’t wait until the Christmas lights are already hanging from the eaves.
Contact Cinnamon Cabin Co. and let’s get your order started.
Your future December self will thank you.
Jesus Always Has Time for Us
Christmas schedules can become incredibly busy. There are gifts to buy, meals to prepare, houses to clean, furniture to order, people to visit, and seemingly never enough hours in the day. Thankfully, Jesus is never too busy for us. We never have to wonder whether His schedule is full or whether we waited too long to come to Him. He always has time to hear our prayers, carry our burdens, forgive our sins, and draw us closer to Himself. At Christmas we celebrate the wonderful truth that God loved us enough to send His Son into our world. Furniture orders may have deadlines, but the invitation of Jesus is still open: come to Him. He always has time for you.
